I like these stands, but they are not durable. The collars will split if you have a buddy with strong hands tighten them. On the riser it means the pin is the only thing holding it in place. On the base, the weight of the speaker and the friction of the floor is it, and if you move the stand/speaker the base starts to collapse inward. Pro... NO! Hobby, especially if you are careful and don't let anyone else adjust them you have a good product.

Hard to Beat for the Money

By SoundFreak

from Everett, WA

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

These stands have multiple features that you just don't find on stands in this price range. For one, you get a security pin to lock the stand against something more sturdy than a thumb screw. However, the center post also bears against the surface it is placed on so the load is broken up over 4 legs rather then 3 from most others. The stand is very sturdy and difficult to topple. Great value from ProLine.

Great stand

By standman

from San Jose, CA

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

These speaker stands are very sturdy. Their handling is rated at 150lbs. That means that anything under 300lbs. should sit comfortably on these stands. Plus, they are easy to setup and transport.

Wicked deal!

By Eian

from Colorado Springs, CO

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

These stands by Proline, are a good deal for the money. Pros: Price point is right. Easy to setup. Easy to adjust, even with a speaker atop the stand. Knobs are engineered for good grip and are durable. Lightweight at under 5 pounds each. STRONG. There's a 1.5" adapter sleeve in the box if your cabs have a 1-1/2" top-hat on the base. Pre-assembled - just unwrap and go! Cons: Made in China. Plastic hardware/brackets. I don't anticipate any trouble with these stands, but the 5-year warranty is there of you needed it.

Sturdy yet easy to carry

By GirlSinger

from Laguna Beach, California

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

As a solo act, I have to carry all my gear, so I look for sturdy yet lightweight pieces for my rig. These stands are perfect for me. The locking pin eases my mind that my speakers won't fall. The base is adjustable so I get stability without taking up more floor space than necessary. And I can easily carry both stands in the Gator GPA-88 bag. Nice!

ProLine LST2BK

By Andy

from Andover, MA

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

These speaker stands are very affordable, lightweight and look great. The included push-pins come in handy, when the clamp that holds the main post AND speaker breaks. I love the stands, but I find that the plasic (grip/clamps) are made from a heavy plastic that is cheap and will crack and break on you in cold weather.

Clamp replacement; fixing the weak part of the stand

By Gerry

from Frederick, MD

Pros

  • Light Inexpensive

Cons

  • Weak Clamp

Best Uses

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

I purchased a pair of these speaker stands used and one of the clamps was broken. As others have noted, replacement clamps are not available from the manufacturer. After researching, I found a close fit to be from Ultimate Support (Telescoping Collar Kit# 15359) for less than $9 at parts-express. The top clamp is a perfect fit but the bottom clamp is 1 5/8" as opposed to the 1 ½" tube on the Proline stand. To achieve a firm/reliable fit, I cut a piece of 0.070 thick vinyl floor covering (0.900" wide x 5" long), heated it with a hair dryer and formed it into the bottom opening of the clamp. Installing it on the bottom tube of the stand took some care but worked great; it tightened up and made a really secure fit. Of course, the top tube slid right down into the top clamp and tightened up as well. I feel pretty confident in this clamp as a replacement; it is used on the Ultimate Support TS70B stand rated at 150# load capacity.

Plastic doesn't work well in colder states

    By scott light

    from Detroit, MI

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

The stands are not bad for the price, however, I have snapped the plastic pieces with little pressure applied. I brough them in from outside...30 degrees...and started to tighten them and they just snapped. I took them back and they gave me a new pair...cool...but these have also snapped.

    Great speaker stands!

    By Branden Wedwick

    from Phoenix, AZ

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

I own two 15" powered speakers and these stands do an excellent job holding them up! Of course, do not allow anybody else but yourself to handle and operate them. Have used them numerous times and haven't had any trouble!

    Great Stand

    By Marc Woolverton

    from Winchester, VA

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

I ordered this stand as the older Ultimate Stands I have were just too tall for my basement room. This stand worked perfectly. The basic height is lower than the Ultimate stand and it does allow me to put my cabinets on them. Seems sturdy enough for the weight. Great product!

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

Recently purchased this speaker stand and it works great for my Kustom Pa50 speaker. I have it set up in my practice space which is carpeted and accidently bumped the stand and didnt even move an inch so its pretty sturdy for my use i like how it adjust from so low to high i have it set about 6 foot high so the speaker is right at head level or above makes a big difference and it seems to make the speaker fill the room more like the saftey pin feature so the pole does not fall only issue i can see is if plastic knobs are over tightened it make break but tighten them till the knobs feel a little tight then snug a little bit more over all a great product and with the three year warranty i think if anything does happen i know i can get it replaced with not much pain involve, just over 40 bucks i feel its a great product for the aspiring musician

      !!! Don't Buy ProLine !!!

      By Dennis J. Barela

      from Temecula, CA

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

I own 5 sets of these stands (as well as several mic stands). They all have common problems. They use a special "thin-walled" nut that is recessed in the tightening collar that easily comes out and gets lost. ProLine claims that these stands are guaranteed but their website has no telephone numbers and they will not respond to emails that I have sent to EVERY email address on their website for the past TWO MONTHS! I would be happy to pay for a couple dozen of these nuts to have on-hand but this company is too unprofessional to respond to their consumers. (BTW: Guitar Center customer service is always excellent but they are limited in what they can do with this issue) AVOID PROLINE PRODUCTS!!!

Spend The Extra Money To Protect Your Investment

      By Ken Love

      from Atlanta, GA

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

The title says it all. After using the stands four times the locking collar split in half like the other poster's mentioned. The material is very cheap. If you have $500 speakers sitting on a $30 stand, you deserve what you get. Spend the extra money and protect your investment.

Not for those that care about quality...

      By Daniel

      from Seattle, WA

Comments about Proline LST2BK Speaker Stand:

I have used these for almost 2 years and they always supported my old Peavey Speakers. Unfortunately, I have had to trade them in a few times because of broken, stripped knobs, etc. I now own two QSC K12's and used them for three gigs this past week. I am 100% not comfortable that these stands accurately support my very expensive speakers. Even below the maximum line, it felt like it would have taken one slight tap or one gust of wind to knock these puppies over. If you don't have expensive speakers and you can replace them easily, these aren't bad stands. But I am going to have to upgrade mine this week before my next set of gigs. "If you want the best, you've got to pay for it".
