Rickety, Uncomfortable, Not What I Was Hoping For

By Dan Arturi

from Chicago, IL

Comments about ProLine Ergonomic Keyboard Chair:

Looks great... I wanted it to BE great... but it falls way short. I play a lot of acoustic guitar and am always trying to find the right seat height and a place to rest my foot that makes sense. This looked like it was going to give me an adjustable way to find both... unfortunately, it's not very solid and the foot rest does not extend out far enough from the seat to rest your foot on it. Lots of adjustable positions but again, since everything is held in place by pins instead of some kind of locking mechanism, it's not very secure or solid. Poorly engineered.

A Little Modification....

By Gunner

from Fishers, IN

Comments about ProLine Ergonomic Keyboard Chair:

Out of the box, the only thing I did not like was the lip at the rear of the seat. So, being the kinda guy who makes the world around me conform to my taste, I modified it. I removed the rear of the seat, added a spacer to the backrest to make it ergonomical, and welded a custom made platform to the adjustable foot rest. It is now the perfect chair for playing guitar. I took pics and sent them to the manufacturer to show what is needed to make it right.

I like the chair

By Vince G

from San Ramon, CA

Comments about ProLine Ergonomic Keyboard Chair:

I wanted a comfortable chair that gave me back support when I practice/play my guitar(2-3 hours a day). This chair works for me. I don't understand how the other reviewers complain about complexity. It has only 3 moving parts and once you find your comfort zone you set them and forget them. The only thing I would change would be a backrest with more degrees of freedom that allow fine tuning of the position of the backrest, but it's ok. The reviewer complaining about the lip on the seat hasn't adjusted the chair properly. The lip is part of the back support and once the seat and leg are adjusted properly it helps support your back. this chair is the best thing out there. The alternatives for the price are a stool with no back, like a drummer's throne. Something with a back is just a stool with a back and meant for a drummer so it leans you back too far and no foot rest. The ergo chair makes you sit up straight. I looked around a lot. I'm reasonably happy with the purchase.

ProLine Ergonomic Keyboard Chair

By Chairless

from Wichita, Kansas

Comments about ProLine Ergonomic Keyboard Chair:

Went to GC with the intention of purchasing this chair. It is a wonderful concept but the poorest design execution. The chair has numerous adjustments it's just too bad that none of them will make it comfortable. The back site too far from the seat and won't get close enough to use. As another reviewer noted the board on the back of the seat hits you just wrong. The footrest adjusts up and down but not in and out. This chair is very disappointing as the marketplace can certainly use a functional product like this. My recommendation is to sit in one before you buy it!

Where's the Ergo?

By Mike

from Costa Mesa, CA

Comments about ProLine Ergonomic Keyboard Chair:

I looked high & low for a good chair to use for rehearsal, and thought I had found it with this one. Ultimately I ended up being disappointed and had to return it. While the concept is great, unfortunately Proline needs to go back to the drawing board. I couldn't find any settings that made playing comfortable. 1st problem is you cannot use it when set to it's lowest height because it tends to tip when you lean forward, 2nd: the footrests don't extend out far enough to be used comfortably + they're wobbly, 3rd: I tried every available adjustment for the backrest and couldn't find a comfortable position. I also think they're missing the boat referring to it as a keyboard chair. I was looking for a chair to use while playing guitar and it looked like this would work but it didn't. I can't see how this could effectively be used to play keyboards with. Ultimately I ended up purchasing one of Proline's keyboard benches and it's sufficient but still not what I was looking for. : (

Nice chair, but one big flaw

By Marcifer

from Woodbury, mn

Comments about ProLine Ergonomic Keyboard Chair:

I bought this chair because it is easy to put together and adjust. I especially like the foot rest, but was disappointed by the protruding lip at the back of the seat. When sitting down it does not feel comfortable because it butts up against the tailbone. I had to return it because of this and wish at the manufacturer would make that part of the seat removable, or eliminate it altogether. Do that and I'd easily give it 5 stars.
