Comments about Proline 2+2 Bass Tuning Machines:

(Have not bought these from GC)
I happen to have these installed on my custom bass, and yes the brass gear stripped off.

Checked and the gear from my acoustic guitar fit in perfectly well. What a joke. Handles are cheapo plastic too.

I would install gotoh style tuners right away, but the covers for proline pegs are huge and i'll be left with four holes to fill for each tuner. Stay away.

      Not what was expected

Comments about Proline 2+2 Bass Tuning Machines:

i was expecting more when i purchased these. I bought these for a lower end bass project i was working on and i didn't want to spend $50 on a nicer set of tuning machines. When these arrived they were sloppy and had much play when turning the gear. when i opened the casing up the gear is so small its about the size of a guitars tuning machines gears i refuse to put these on any bass even if someone asked me to.

      Low Quality

Comments about Proline 2+2 Bass Tuning Machines:

I purchased these to use on a project bass I am building. I didn't want to spend a great deal of money and these seemed to fit the bill. They looked nice after they were installed however the first time I tried to tune them up the small brass gear stripped out. In my opinion these are too small for a bass and can not handle the tension. Ultimately I ended up purchasing better tuners on eBay for half the price. They work much better.
