No Problems, Works Great!

Used for solid body and acoustic guitars in different combinations with no problems. Assembly was easy, all the holes matched up like they were suppose to.

I was so excited to get this last night and be able retire a couple old single-guitar stands. However, this 3-ax rack is poorly designed, badly manufactured, and not even big enough for acoustic guitars. The design looks OK, but the top support far enough "behind" the rack base that I have pull the whole thing out from the wall about a 12" so in order for my bass rests without touching the wall. The actual manufacturing is simply horrible as screw holes don't even line up. (I had to "bore out" 4 or 5 of them just to assemble it!) Lastly, it's not even big enough for standard depth acoustic guitars. I have a solid body bass and two acoustic 6-strings in the rack, and they "fan out" at the bottom due to lack of space. In all fairness it might work adequately for solid-body guitars, but I personally cannot wait to take this thing back for a refund.

Comments about ProLine PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

I had all the pieces, assembled easily but was not straight but that was easy to fix. Would not hold 3 acoustic, but does alright with 2. Padding is very cheap and has depressions after only a week of use. Not sure how long it will hold up but good for now. Would not purchase another one though, was not impressed with the quality.

        It works... Kinda

Comments about ProLine PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

It was very hard to put together. Most of the holes were not allied properly. Being that, it is a bit rickety. The guitars fit fine, its just not that sturdy.

        Poor build quality; overpriced

Comments about ProLine PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

Poor build quality: mis-aligned holes, non-90 degree angles, wobbles, poor quality fixtures (hex screw caps strip too easily, nut caps break off easily).

        Low quality, high price

Comments about ProLine PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

I just put this together and I am about to take it apart and put it right back in the box. Very cheap workmanship and quality. If it was $20 instead of $50 I would probably be satisfied, but for that amount of money I expected a much better quality product.

Really only holds 2 guitars w/o banging into each other

Comments about ProLine PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

Not really a good stand for three guitars unless they are skinny (like an electric guitar) ... can't hold a resonator plus a 12 string and a 6 string acoustic w/o hitting into each other. I should have purchased another single stand rather than this one.

Good purchase, maybe I got lucky?

Comments about ProLine PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

I've been reading all the negative reviews and for the price I didn't think it was worth it but once it went on sale for President's Day I immediately jumped on it. I double checked with the GC employee that I could return it if it wasn't up to snuff for me. I'm happy to say it is. In response to some negative reviews: I wasn't missing any pieces, I didn't need to drill any holes, and mine only sits about 5" from the wall fully loaded. I think some of the assembly problems are user error. While putting it together I kept checking if it'd sit flat and didn't tightened everything fully until it was all together. While assembling the stand it'll look like it's going to be warped but once complete it's not. Mine sits fine and doesn't rock. I recommend using a real wrench to assemble, preferably a socket, makes it much easier. I was pleasantly surprised how little space it takes up. Solid, but not super sturdy, about what one can expect from a folding model with no bracing. My only real complaint is my guitars sit a little uncomfortably close to each other for my taste. I have a LP standard, Ibanez RG, and full size Yamaha dreadnought cutaway acoustic sitting in this, and there's about 2" of space between each at the bridge. Also, if the acoustic, which is on the end, isn't sitting perfectly it can slightly touch the side of the stand so I'm going to add a thin piece of foam to it just in case and also rubber grip feet to prevent any sliding since I'm on a hardwood floor. All in all it's worth the sale price and I'm happy with the purchase, just have to be a little careful when placing and removing the guitars from it. Maybe they'll redesign it one day and make it a few inches wider.

        Not for professional use

Comments about ProLine PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

I bought this at a great sale price. The wobbly review nailed it - that was the first thing I noticed after careful assembly. This is just the nature of the cheaply machined metal cranked out from China. This gets 2 stars for utility storage and safe band practices.

        Missing Hardware

Comments about ProLine PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

I purchased this at the closet Guitar Center to me (over an hour away) and when I got home to assemble had one incorrect screw and was missing a washer. $1.20 fix at a hardware store, but for $65 it should have been correct. Will never buy anything from this brand again.

Poor Quality, Poor Customer Service from ProLine

        By

        from Simi Valley, CA

Comments about ProLine PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

I got the PLMS3, took it home and began assembling. It looked clearly to be of poor workmanship and far below what I would expect for the price. Honestly, $65.00 is the list price, and it looks like it cost about $3.00 to manufacture. I checked to see where it is manufactured, but could not find it on the packaging. Wherever it is, it has greatly sub-standard quality controls. One of the plastic pads the feet sit on was broken and it was also missing two cap nuts required for assembling. I called the customer service line for ProLine and they told me they don't mail missing parts, so box it up and return it to GC. I told them GC is 20 miles away - they seriously would rather I return it than mail me a few small pieces? The answer was, "yes." I got the nuts at my local hardware store and improvised a pad for the feet. The only reason I kept this thing was because I paid a discount price due to the Xmas sale. I absolutely will not buy from this maker again. I will gladly pay even more to get some quality.

        Doesn't really fit

        By

        from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Comments about ProLine PLMS3 3-Guitar Folding Stand:

I'm gonna start off by saying that the assembly is difficult, but doable if you have an hour to kill. It feels relatively sturdy and saves some space. But, in the picture, you can see the stand holding two electrics and one acoustic; however, it doesn't really do that. If you try putting a standard size dreadnought into one of the side slots, it will band up against the metal and scratch your guitar. If you try to put it in the middle, the strings will scratch the guitar next to it. I don't have a thick hollowbody electric to put in it, but I think it would have the same problem. So it works decently for three electrics, but then you have the angled headstocks (at least for some guitars) to worry about. So this is a good stand if you have several electrics, but if you are an acoustic player, you should get three of the FretRest by Proline stands; they are of equal sturdiness and don't require any difficult assembly.
