This is by far the best deal on a desk top mic stand you can find. Its settings can be adjusted to find jsut about any angle. Its weighted bottom is great because it keeps it from tipping over when a mic is attached. It's a very well made product. I suggest using it with the AKG D 22 Dynamic instrumental mic and the M-Audio Nova Large Diaphragm Condenser mic.

TERRIBLE product!! The threaded end is NOT a part of the entire shaft, but an insert that has been "crimped" onto the end of the shaft. After 3 gigs, I can't tighten the mic onto the threaded part because it "spins" inside the shaft, so the mic won't stay in place. Gravity comes into play and the mic faces downwards. I'm taking it back, but will opt OUT of a replacement of the same product.

The MS112 desktop boom mic stand

By ED

from Charlotte Harbor, Florida

This stand is a little tank. Perfect for placing on my desk and moving it forward when I'm ready to record an acoustic guitar track. The weighted base is so sturdy I have no concern that my mic will tip or fall off the edge even with the boom fully extended. Nice !

Low Profile Boom Mike Stand

By Robert Buck

from Merritt Island FL

This is a very sturdy stand with boom for miking bass amps. The heavy base requires very little floor space. Used in conjunction with the Dual Mike Bar it provides a very sturdy stand for my two mikes. The base is heavy enough to hold my two mikes at full boom extension and be stable. It solved a problem for stereo recording and not using a lot of real estate to do so.

Voice overs and audio narrations

By Jose Brooks

from Rowlett, Texas

Features: Perfect for my desk! Sitting at my desk, this stand can easily be positioned up or down, front or back. It easily accommodated my Nady MPF-6 pop filter on the boom arm. I use it with my AT 2020 USB mic and Nady SMM-3 Shock Mount The whole setup fits nicely. Quality: The first thing you notice even before you open the box is that it is heavy. All that weight is from that dang base! Very nice! I will say though, that if I extend the boom too far out on my setup, it can be tipped over. Out of the box you get two pieces- the base and the boom arms (already assembled). All you have to do is screw the boom into the base and you're up and running. The base has four pads on the bottom but I felt they were somewhat recessed into the base but I had some small felt pads left over from a cabinet installation and put them on the base too. Lifts the base up enough it makes it easier to slide around on my desk without scratching it. Look and Feel: Solid construction. Nice black finish to both parts which complements my desk. Doesn't take up any space. Overall, I'm very happy with this mic stand and it's already helping my voice overs go smoothly.

I use it as a vocal mic on gigs on top of my stage piano!

By Barbara Fakoury

from Fairfax, VA

No mic stand legs to trip on, no long heavy mic to haul around, setup & takedown quicker, overall band setup looks neater. I was worried it would jiggle too much and distract me (as I pounded on my piano), but it didn't. Yay!

Great Stand!

By Highway 105 Band

from Montgomery, Texas

I am a drummer in a working classic rock band. We move around often, set up tear down. This stand had been great! Durable, reliable and flexible. I play with a beta 52, and this stand does a great job of holding steady and delivering the results I need. I highly recommend this stand to any drummer that is picky and expects more for less.

this is a good product but...

By steven land

from galloway, nj

the base isn't quite heavy enough to offset the weight of the mic when the boom is fully out. i remedied this by putting a couple of weights around the base, it seems to work fine now, overall this is good if you're on a strict budget, for the extra 20 bucks i'd get the more heavy duty.

More stand for the money!

By Jimmy Mac

from Las Vegas NV

Heavy base - extendable arm with great extension - adjustable stand: what more could you ask for? I bought two: one for the kick mic which is outstanding at any position, and the second was for my desk mic which has lately been used to mic an amp during a recording session. Again - every position possible can be attained using these stands. Never had a "tilt back" - never had a "slide down" - never had a mic drop for any reason. When you're recording - the last thing you want is to have an equipment failure. A problem with holding a mic in place is inexcusable. These babies won't let you down!

Poor Quality

By Dave

from Portland, OR

I bought this for a new bass drum mic. I was VERY disapointed that when I mounted the mic. the end of the boom came loose and just spun around endlessly. I ended up using the stand without the boom. The weight of this stand is nice providing a stable platform, unfortunately the quality control on the assembly line is lacking.
