Well since I own a cheap Les Paul and I'm a musician on a budget I tried to give my guitar a more professional look and tried to mod it to be more like a LP standard, They look great and they actually improved the sound of the pickups and makes them sound a bit brighter and clearer ...more like a true Gibson, I just had to carve and sand the pickup slots a bit for them to properly fit and you might need to pot them to get rid on any rattle between the cover and the actual pickup, I would totally recommend them, much cheaper and they work/look awesome!

I got these pick up covers for my SG the other day and was pretty disapointed. They do make the guitar look better, but they mess up your gouitars sound with distortion and kind of muffles the clean sound. I would probably get the gibson cobvers instead.

not so good...

By Ari Coulopoulos

from valparaiso indiana

these covers looked sweet so i picked em up at guitarcenter for les paul. turns out proline can drill equal holes! one of the covers didn't match up at all with the screws on the actual pickup. so, just saying, if your gonna buy these, open em up at the store and make sure that the holes line up with both of em.

Look Pretty

By Rushmann

from Seattle WA

This doesn't really affect tone at all. Though that wasn't what I was going for when purchasing these pickup covers. I bought these pickup covers intending to make my guitar look more high end, covering up those lame uncovered black pickups. It worked, my guitar looks about $100 more now that I put these on. My only complaint is that the holes for the screws on the bridge pickup don't exactly line up so I can't level the screws to the pickup cover, but my hand covers that when I play so no biggie. Other than that, great product.

50/50

Put them on an old Japanese Les Paul copy. Fit the bridge, installation was easy. The neck, different storey. The spacing is narrower on a proper neck pickup s it did not fit right. I will have to order a gibson neck spaced unit next time I change strings I guess.

Neck cover only

By The Jackster

from V

Ok a couple of things you should know before buying these, # one you get two for the price of one. These only will fit your neck pickup the bridge pickup well the holes dont match up. Ok heres how to install it, I have a Gibson SG with 490"s in it ,take the pick guard cover off the guitar and then take the neck pickup out , and then you will have to back the pole screws out until you can slide the pick up cover over it. Then screw the pole pices back down this will secure the pick up cover onto the pickup and soldering wont have to be done. You have to put the pickup cover on the pickup first and slide it in from the bottom side of the pick guard, it wont go on from the top side ,the neck pick up cover fit very well I will have to fork out more money to get the brigde cover from Gibson I should have just waited and did it right the first time, some times cheeper is not better in this case ,so if you need two neck pickup covers these will save you some money other wise spend the money and do the job right the first time.

Great product-low cost

By GMAN

Great product. Was easy and simple to install on my Schecter Diamond Series electric guitar. I have had them on for 2 weeks, and no problems so far. However, the covers could be a little tighter over the pickups. Other than that, I have been satisfied. You get the expensive looks at a cheap price.

Awesome!!!

By Paul David

If your guitar has open humbuckers and like the look of covered ones yet don't have the money to get new humbuckers get these. I have them on my Ibanez GAX70 and they made it look incredible. They don't even mess up the sound.

No good

By DaNiEl

from TX

Ok, these pickups were no good at all for my Gibson Flying V. I don't know if it was just those pickups or whatever but they were just terrible. First off I couldn't get the covers to fir the pickups . They just kept popping right off. Neither of the covers fit all the way through, the bridge cover just barely fit. When I finally decided to leave the neck cover off and leave the bridge cover partially on, everytime my pick touched the cover The amp began to screech at an extremely loud level, even when I muted them! Overall these were not good at all. I haven't tried the Gibson covers yet, but those would probably be the better choice.

i loved these!

By Jeremy Thomas

from Coppell, TX

I put this set on an "Epiphone Les Paul Special II Guitar" and it worked great. The only thing that i think could possibly go wrong is if they were installed incorrectly or without as much care they should have been...always have these installed by a professional for best results. But yeah these worked great for me!
