  • Strat Bridge to Avoid

As reviewed by MRS on 9/18/2009

In startling contrast to the ad copy, this bridge assembly is the lowest quality piece of junk ever! The edges and the holes of the stamped bridge were full of sharp burrs that can cut strings (and fingers). The biggest problem was the beveled "knife edge" that the tremalo is supposed to pivots on. Instead of the pivot point being behind the screw holes, the pivot point ran right under the screw holes, so there's no way that the bridge could pivot. Not only that, it was stamped crooked, so even if it could pivot, it would be traveling at an angle with no way to equalize the string tension. I threw the whole thing away and bought an actual Fender replacement bridge, which bolted right in. There's a reason this is only a quarter of the price for the Fender part - It's JUNK.

  • not the best replacement

As reviewed by chiller 4 on 8/13/2009

this trem is a good starter trem, like from one of those 50 dollar guitars, but is not the best trem for a replacement on any guitar, spend the extra money and get a better one, the tops of the screws strip really easy and the springs are weak, other than that, it helps hold tune pretty good, but still, get any different trem

  • It was here for two reasons....and it cant chew bubblegum.

As reviewed by Carl Schwab. on 6/5/2011

I was reading the reviews from before me and they said anything from: Meh, its okay; to, Its terrible. When i got mine a few things stood out. the first is the weight. It was heavy(for a budget bridge). I always have agreed with George Fullerton: Mass=tone. Secondly: Brass springs. I don't know about you bot i have NEVER seen that before. They pull hard too. like really hard, i have three in my guitar and it holds tune like a pro. Finally, the saddles are junk. replace them when you can. All in all its an AMAZING bridge for the money. Seriously concider this as an up grade for ANY cheap trem.
