  • Works

As reviewed by P.E.Price on 8/19/2009

While this is not the absolute top quality, you can do a lot worse, especially at this price. It installs and works just like the stock one. It is not a replacement for a Floyd Rose or some such, but is a good stock like replacement.

  • Not what I was expecting...

As reviewed by Mark Johnson on 1/19/2013

I had purchased an earlier verison of this tremolo, which had bent saddles much like the vintage Fender tremolos do, for a project Strat I was working on at the time. I was pleased with the quality of that version, so I purchased another a few days ago to replace the aging tremolo on my older Kramer KS-400 Strat style guitar. I unhappily found out that ProLine did away with the bent saddles and had, in my opinion, downgraded their quality of this item by also using a smaller, lighter block. I purchased this trem because it was the only trem in my local GC with the 2 1/16 string spacing I needed. When I installed it on my guitar and restrung it, I had a hard time innotating it. The trem's action was not very smooth, and would never return to the initial position, no matter how tight or loose the claw springs were, which would constantly throw my guitar's tune sharp and flat. The chrome finish was very crisp and shiny, and the trem bar fit very well. Overall, I think this trem would be fine for someone who wants the look of a trem but wants to block it. If you're someone who uses their trem to add vibrato or throw a little shimmer on a few chords, you may want to find a different trem system...

  • It was here for two reasons....and it cant chew bubblegum.

As reviewed by Carl Schwab. on 6/5/2011

I was reading the reviews from before me and they said anything from: Meh, its okay; to, Its terrible. When i got mine a few things stood out. the first is the weight. It was heavy(for a budget bridge). I always have agreed with George Fullerton: Mass=tone. Secondly: Brass springs. I don't know about you bot i have NEVER seen that before. They pull hard too. like really hard, i have three in my guitar and it holds tune like a pro. Finally, the saddles are junk. replace them when you can. All in all its an AMAZING bridge for the money. Seriously concider this as an up grade for ANY cheap trem.
