  • boom stand

As reviewed by Johnny Blood on 8/24/2009

good stand, but came with common problem...the thread assembly where the clip screws on was loose, probably from factory. Easily fixed by drilling small hole and adding small sheet metal screw...not worth the time and effort to send back...otherwise good product, but they should fix that problem.

  • Defective out of the box

As reviewed by Captain Obvious on 10/1/2010

Good Lord, why did I buy this one? Fresh out of the box (factory sealed) the screw that sets the boom slide in place would not tighten fully. Screw threads were misaligned so there is no way to keep the boom from sliding, and screw just falls off. I would expect this kind of thing after a few years of use on an inexpensive stand, not from the factory. Luckily GC customer service were very good about replacing it in a timely manner. Anyway, spend a couple extra bucks and get a better one.

  • Good Enough

As reviewed by Alex on 11/15/2007

As long as you don't abuse the stand, it works great. It's very sturdy and will hold a heavy large diaphragm condenser (which I use it for) as long as you don't strip out the clamps. You don't need to crank on it to get it to hold tight. Overall, extreme value. I own two and use them on stage.
