Great for versatile players

The Lightning-Rod sticks are a great option for a drummer playing several styles of music. They are are more durable than the Hot-Rod sticks, so you can lay into the drums a little more without them breaking. However, they are thinner than the Thunder-Rod sticks, so you still get a better bundled stick sound. They are also the perfect size for a drummer used to playing 5A or 5B sticks.

These rods work, Loud or soft.

These are the best rods I have fond for many differnt situations. The music I use them most for is "alternative power pop" acording to one website, and we play at many dinamic levels. I use the Pro Mark Lighting rods for 3 or 4 songs in the set ranging from soft balleds to hard hitting swing and they deliver every time. If you are looking for something a little lighter, try the Pro Mark Hot Rods, also a great sounding stick.

I love these...but not for heavy hitters...

I absolutely love the feel of these bundled sticks...I play these plus the Hot Rods & Cool Rods when I want something other than sticks - and these are great! My only complaint is you never know how long they will last. I am a fairly consistent customer, but my last set lasted only 2 gigs. Be forewarned. Give these a try.
