Hot Rods Good for Lighter Playing

I bought a pair of Hot Rods to use at my church where I don't want to play as loud. They allow me to play softer while using normal strokes and I can still build to a reasonably loud sound when desired with bigger strokes. The only drawback is that they chip on cymbals fair easily, which reduces their lifespan. I would recommend them to anyone looking for more dynamic control.

The Hot Rods by pro mark are one of my favorite set of sticks to use. First the sound, i play at a church its a small building so i have to duck tape my head to begin and even then there is to much pitch with the drum but these sticks helped with that and even gave a better sounding attack.same is will the cymbal it gives a sound that cant be matched its just one of those gotta hear it to believe it things. Now the feel of the sticks is great too if you have big hands like me you will find that the thicker handle will be well suited for you. it also cuts down on the vibration of hitting the heads and allows for more comfortable use. so if your unhappy with normal sticks or just want a new sound then these sticks are for you.

They are Really Cool!!!

Softer sound than Sticks. Not for a metal band!!!! I used them live for the first time and they sounded great. I was told it was the best song of the night. My best purchase in years!!! I have been practicing with these instead of sticks and my Family loves it, easier on the ears. I actually can hear what I'm playing much better. Try it, you'll like it!

Hot Rods are truely hot!

These drums sticks are hard to adjust to if you never have used them. They dont have the same feel as a drum stick would when you hit your ride cymbal. It takes some getting use to when changing from something completely different. These are a nice addition to a stick bag with the similarity of brushes. For a nice soothing backbeat is when these can be used and they also can put out some sound too!

Great Sticks!

I won a pair of these at Guitar Center's Drum Off with many other awesome prizes last year. My neighbors threatened the cops with me playing all the time so I started using them. I'm able to play quietly enough that the neighbors don't complain but I still have the dynamic control my style calls for. These sticks have a crisper sound on my cymbals too so it makes it easier to experiment with different styles. The downside is the dowels break relatively quick on the edge of cymbals and rimshots. Also you don't get much action on drumheads and they sound dead (which is why I rimshot to get the sound out). Other than that, great sticks!!! I'm going to buy another pair tomorrow!!!
