Highly Respected Preamplifiers
PreSonus Audio has won numerous awards for designing high quality microphone preamplifiers at all price levels. The AudioBox USB is loaded with two high-quality preamplifiers that deliver high headroom, low noise and high gain giving you pure, full and rich sound.
Professional 24-bit converters
Most USB recording devices operate at 16-bit sample rate and use converters with dynamic range of less than 90dB. This translates into a pinched and relatively small sound. The AudioBox USB uses professional-grade analog to digital converters with dynamic range of 102dB and 24-bit sample rate so that the digital conversion is big, quiet and musical.
The AudioBox USB is USB bus-powered allowing you to take it anywhere inspiration hits. No wall warts, line lumps or power cables, just plug in to a powered USB port and you are ready to record.
Ready to hit the road
There’s no plastic here. The AudioBox USB is housed in an all-metal chassis with metal knobs ready to withstand the rigors of travel. Toss it in your laptop bag and mobilize your music creation and production. Whether you want to record your shows, mix on the plane or write songs in your hotel room, the AudioBox is ready.

M7 High-Definition Condenser Microphone
Condenser mics are the overwhelming choice of recording studio professionals, due to the very small mass that must be moved by the in-coming sound wave. This means you can capture musical details, harmonics, and subtle nuances that would get lost with dynamic mics. From vocals to acoustic guitar recordings, you’ll hear the difference.
Large diaphragm microphones like the M7 tend to “warm up” a sound and are a great choice for recording vocals and for recording instruments when you want a “deep” sound.
HD7 Professional Monitoring Headphones
Whether you’re monitoring, tracking or mixing, you can expect impressive sonic performance from your HD7 headphones. PreSonus’ high-definition HD7 headphones take advantage of a patented, semi-open sound chamber to deliver exceptionally deep low frequencies with a balanced and yet powerful bass punch.

This very good to record your music but you have to make an upgrade to convert it to mp3 format. Everything else though is great!
I used the audiobox successfully once, and the second time I plugged it in there was a loud crackle on the line. I switched out the mic, all cables, and software and was unable to resolve the problem. Called customer service and waited 30 minutes only to be cut off. Left posts on the message board and emailed customer service, never got a response. Traded the whole thing in for the Focusright Scarlett.
I got it a few days ago and day one the left ear phone stops working then today the mic broke when I was putting it on the mic stand and to upload a beat you have to convert it TO WAV
My AudioBox USB was not recognized on my Windows 7 machine. Got it to work on Vista and XP. After much frustration and internet research, it turns out 'some of the units' (they can tell by SN) are not compatible with newer USB devices, and PreSonus wants me to send it in for warranty repair so they can replace a component. I'm guessing this will take weeks. I was very excited to receive the equipment and get started recording and was very frustrated by this experience.
I wanted to achieve low latency for monitoring my recordings and this does exactly that. I just purchased a new faster laptop so I can't wait to see the performance then.
I bought this as my first recording equipment, and it works amazing. it has its occasional bugs, but nothing that detracts from its amazing simplicity and maneuverability. Great price for the nice gear that comes with it. Would advise for beginners, although the software itself works great even for people a little more serious.
This is perfect for that home recording that you might want to do, but I would probably get something with more channels and better quality equipment for something more serious. I'm still giving it 5 stars because it does that job you would expect it to do - and for the price, you really can't beat this. Definitely pick one up if you're looking to get started recording... Especially if you're a solo artist.
I wanted to open up my own studio and began with this , its a great starter kit , and the price isn't too bad either. Be sure to pick one up if your new to recording!
