Product Information

High-quality pres and pro-grade A/D conversion turn your laptop into a powerful recording rig.

The PreSonus AudioBox USB 2x2 USB recording system is an excellent solution for achieving high-quality, professional-sounding recordings no matter where you are. The AudioBox USB is a USB bus-powered audio recording interface loaded with 2 microphone/instrument inputs with 48V phantom power, 2 balanced TRS outputs, and MIDI I/O so you can stay portable without sacrificing your sound. The AudioBox USB also comes with Studio One Artist music creation and production software which has the same platform and intuitive interface as Studio One Pro but with an unlimited track count so you can start recording right out of the box.

PreSonus Audio has won numerous awards for designing quality microphone preamplifiers for all price levels. The AudioBox USB is loaded with preamps that deliver high headroom, low noise, and high gain to give you pure, full, and rich sound. Most USB recording devices operate at a 16-bit sample rate and use converters with dynamic ranges of less than 90dB which gives you a pinched and relatively small sound. The AudioBox USB, however, uses professional-grade analog to digital converters with a dynamic range of 102dB and 24-bit sample rate so that the digital conversion is big, quiet, and musical, making it one of the best sounding USB bus-powered interface on the market.

The AudioBox USB is bus-powered giving you the flexibility you need with no wall warts, line lumps, or power cables. Just plug in to a powered USB port and you are ready to record. The AudioBox USB is housed in an all-metal chassis with metal knobs able to withstand the rigors of travel and your touring adventures. Just toss the AudioBox USB in your laptop bag and mobilize your music creation and production. Whether you're recording your shows, creating a mix on the plane, or writing songs in your hotel room, the AudioBox is ready to go.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

NEW REVIEW - Be sure to know your computer

Don't make the mistake I made and purchase it and then realize, duh, you have a 64-bit Vista system. Not good when you don't remember your own computer specs. I'm having to take it back and get a Firebox. Presonus told me that there are no plans on developing drivers for a 64-bit system for Audiobox. This looks like a great product that looks to be easy to use once you can figure out how to set it up.

I am impressed!

I just got a new macbook (yes the kind that does not have a firewire port). Although I love my computer, my Presonus Inspire 1394 was now obsolete. I received my Audiobox a few days ago and I really could not be more satisfied with the results. Most people say you should buy a firewire interface because USB is slower and the mic preamps are not up to par. I actually think the Audiobox sounds better than the Inspire! It was quick and easy to set up, works great with garageband, and there is very little 'hum' on the recordings (a problem I struggled with on my Inspire). The Audiobox makes recording fast and easy so you can focus on what you are playing instead of complications with the interface.

I absolutely love the Audiobox!

I recently received the PreSonus Audiobox, and I must say that I am completely satisfied with it. For starters, its appearance is very nice and professional, with no plastic or chrome crap, overall nice and sturdy. The performance of the Audiobox was better than expected. The quality of the sound recorded was excellent and clean, with no hisses, or pops. The additional phantom power makes it easy to record with condenser microphones, and I found it logical and convenient that the XLR inputs doubled as quarter-inch plug inputs for instruments. The software that came with the Audiobox, Cubase LE4 is in my opinion, quite superior to my previous program of M-Audio Session. Cubase is very simple to use after you study the manual for about 5 minutes. I did face a little bit of confusion when setting up Cubase to recognize the Audiobox, but was easy to figure out after consulting the manual. Overall, and excellent product, I have no regrets buying this item, and would most definitely recommend this product to anyone seeking an affordable audio-interface.

Nice little box.

This unit works Great once it is set up. It is a little tricky getting it set up correctly under Vista, but once set up, no problems at all. The function of the Mixer knob is not well explained. It doesn't take too much playing around to figure it out though. Performance is amazing. The solid metal enclosure certainly helps prevent stray noise pickup. Overall a Great Buy!
