The softwear the comes with it is simple to use (Note: the softwear doesn't come with a manual. You need to get that online). The unit is PreSonus and it delivers the sound quality synomous with it's name. It was very easy to hook up and start recording from the start. I purchased this specifically as an interface to record karaoke performances and convert cassettes and records to cd. It has surpassed my expectations and I may even start recording my own music on it instead of the system I am currently using. If you're just starting out doing your own recording I would strongly recommend this product for both the quality of PreSonus and the ease of use the softwear program offers that comes with it.
I've heard a lot of good things about the Audiobox before I even bought it. Some of them included it has a great quality for a low price, easy to use, and is indestructable. After hearing all that I bought this one from GuitarCenter and I must say that I'm impressed. The Studio One software that accompanies it is very easy to use; one of the most simple softwares I have ever used. I was able to record one my own originals within an hour of using the AudioBox. The thing I love about the Audiobox is the sound quality. It can turn my 90 dollar MXL Condenser Mic to sounds like one of the higher price ones on the market. I've had several different "budget" interfaces and this one is by far one of the best of them. It has a compact, portable design and mine is in limited edition white. It's also pretty well-built since I've dropped it several times and it hasn't affected the Audiobox at all (note: All of those times were on hard concrete floors) I'm seriously loving this product and I'll be using this for a very long time.
This is NOT a 22vsl, this is the audiobox, which has usb 1.1 instead of 2.2, and also the cheaper preamps. I only forewarn you because i bought this one on accident. Anyhow, it is a great box with no problems so far at all. It functions flawlessly with the "trimmed" artist version of PreSonus Studio One v2.0. But, it is still a wonderful program with more than enough to produce a song with professional sound. if you can afford the more expensive 22vsl, or 44vsl with 4 inputs/outputs, go with those.
