I also own the Firepod that I use with my G5 tower. I needed something small and portable to use with my MacBook Pro and since Presonus and Mac are made for each other with never a glitch, never a driver to install or upgrade, plug and play, easy to use - it's a no brainer. It's small, lightweight, sounds great, works all the time. It has phantom power, XLR, TRS, 1/4" MIDI, and is powered by USB. How simple is that?
I bought this interface for my live rig. Operating a laptop with plugs. CPU usage absolutly had to as minimul as possible. No complaints about this unit. USB powered. Drivers are very non-parasitic to the CPU usage. MIDI in and out is a very convienient feature. Very pleased. I have a Presonus 1394 in the studio that I've been using for about 8 months now and its been flawless. Presonus makes good products, you just have to pay attenion to the system requirements before you buy.
This is a very nice product.. i was going to get the mbox but did not have enough cash for it.So the tech guy suggested this instead and it preforms excellent!! Very Easy to use plug and play!! very strong!!I like to do my music on the go and it goes everywere with me and my laptop! If your low in money but wanting top quality i suggest this usb driver.. one of the best things is that it becomes your sound card and the quality it produces will blow your mind!! Get it and make music everywere!!!!
