The Pork Pie Little Squealer Maple Snare Drum is made with an 8-ply all maple shell finished in ebony satin with black chrome hardware for cool looks. Heavy-duty hoops are of 2.3mm triple-flanged steel. Comes with Pork Pie high-quality snare wire. Remo heads top off this punchy little drum.
Wow, i have had this snare for a while now, and man, it sings! You can tune it high for an ear piercing snap, or put a 12 inch powerstroke 3 coated head on it and get and amazing punch out of it. Now i use it for drum and bass, and its awesome. The black hardware is very, very good. And the strainer is EXTREMELLY smooth!! Thanks!
I have to say that this is by far one of the best snares on the market! I ordered it and got in one day and played it. The sound is awesome...nice and warm feel, but has that pop!! The head that came with it is totally awesome. For those who are looking for a good snare...this is it for you! I also have a metal firecracker...but it cannot compare to this snare!! No dislikes on this end!!! Please get this!!!!
I got this to use it along side my traditional size snare, but it sounds so good and looks amazing so I use it now as my main snare. It has a sort of black transparent/washed satin finish with black hardware. The hardware doesn't seem to be powdercoated, I nicked it during a show and it now shows the metal beneath the finish, but it isn't anything that can't be touched up. Overall I love the sound of this snare. It has a nice ring to it, and it records nicely. It has the best crack I've heard in a long time, and has a great tight but warm tone. I replaced the batter head with a remo black suede head and it now has just the right amount of ring, no need for a dampening ring (except when I record.) I would definitely buy another one if something happened to this one. Right size, right price, perfect color. Get one, you will not regret the purchase.
