NEW REVIEW - Planet Waves String Winder/Cutter
For many years I have been stringing my guitars by hand. No reason, it was just what I was used to. recently I purchase a new instrument and they put new strings on it. I watched in amzazement how quickly it got strung. I didn't think about it again until I saw the advertisement for the Winder/Cutter on line. I purchased it and boy am I glad I did. It's a perfect tool and cut my string time by more than half. Sorry I didn't get one years ago. Service was great too.

Great Tool!
This widget more than cuts changing timein half! The 'peg-puller' feature alone is worth the price. Before I owned one, I was actually looking to PAY someone to change strings on my 12-string acoustic.
Downside: the screw fell out once; it went right back in, no problem never fell out again. The first one I bought 'disappeared' so I am off to buy another!

Get this and save your hands
The difference between changing your strings without a winder and with a winder is night and day. I use this for both my electric and acoustic guitars and it works flawlessly. It also has a cutter which works extremely well.

Cuts stringing time- and strings!
Absolutely great. This little wonder cuts the string time in half, and you don't have to go looking for something to cut the extra string with. I used to use another string winder and because the tuning peg area didn't match the actual peg, it scraped the side of my Martin D-15's top! This winder has two areas to put your tuning peg, each a different size, so no more of that! I recomend this for anyone who owns a guitar!

Changing strings couldn't get any easier...
I just received mine yesterday, in seconds I was done restringing my Les Paul. Having that string cutter is so handy because I don't know how many times I've been changing strings and cannot find wire cutters around the house. The string winder fits perfectly on your tuning pegs without hitting the headstock while trying to tune up or down. I totally recommend this tool to anyone that plays guitar. It is definitely a must have!

The Best
It's surprising how many tears a simple tool like this can avert when changing strings. I originally bought one for my bass, but when the time came to change my guitar strings, I instantly knew what model to look for.
As far as peg winders go, you're not really going to find more features than this: it's a peg winder, and it's got a built-in string cliper. But that's good enough, because really, what more do you want out of a peg winder?
This thing's really durable. The only way I can see it breaking is if I physically unscrew it. It's solid and I'll have no qualms about taking it anywhere.
While it's a little pricey for a peg winder, the convenience is really worth it. Do you really want to spend all that time winding strings with your hands, only to have all those ugly ends sticking out? No.
Overall, I'd say this is the model to go for if you're ever going to change your guitar or bass strings.

Thank you Guitar God
Well, lets just say that my hands no longer have to be iced after stringing a guitar. My god, it used to take forever, but now it takes a matter of 5 minutes. This product also cuts the string with barely any force applied. I will definately buy one of these if my first one breaks. Planet Waves scores big time with this useful little thing!!!

Pretty awesome
This is a pretty sweet little thing. It cuts string change time in half: you can wind and unwind your strings in no time, you dont have to kill yourself and your guitar pulling out the pegs, and you don't destroy scissors, nail clippers, or whatever trying to cut your strings. Its also pretty comfortable and really fun to use.

solid construction, very easy to use
I was looking for a multi-use stringwinder/string cutter and I've got to be honest; there are so few of them on the market that it's like I came up with the idea. The Planet Waves stringwinder/stringcutter is such a useful tool - having both utilities in one is priceless. You'll wonder how you ever changed strings before owning one of these!
