Built tough and loaded with innovative features for flexible, reliable onstage tuning.

The Planet Waves Chromatic Pedal Tuner is a sweep and strobe tuner with patent-pending intuitive rotary user interface housed in a rugged, road-worthy metal enclosure. An oversized note name indicator and super-bright tuning LEDs combine to make on-stage tuning easy in all lighting conditions. Professional features like true hard bypass for preserved tone and dual 9v AC jacks make the Chromatic Tuner at home in any pedal board configuration.

In Strobe mode, the played note appears in green on the oversized rotary display while red LEDs chase clockwise if you're sharp and counter-clockwise if you're flat. They slow down and finally stop as you nail the pitch. In Sweep mode, the LEDS sweep left or right indicating whether you're flat or sharp.

A big, multi-segment note indicator in the center of the display is very legible when standing. The pedal activates the mute/bypass circuit while 3 controls above it select the tuning mode and user-selectable A435 — A445 calibration.

The Chromatic Pedal Tuner runs on an included 9V battery and has 9V I/O for daisy-chaining other pedals. With its large display and true bypass that doesn't mess with your tone, it's ideal for electric guitar players who have to perform in dark conditions and who use pedalboards.

Planet Waves Chromatic Pedal Tuner Features:

  • Strobe and Sweep modes
  • Large rotary interface
  • Oversized note indicator

Not The Best Decision I've Made

Wen't to Guitar Center planning on getting the BOSS pedal tuner or the Korg pedal tuner. When I mentioned what I wanted this guy just insisted that I get the Planet Waves pedal tuner because they'd been selling alot and had good reviews. So I said it's got a bigger display and it's cheaper and they through in some patch cables with it. Good deal I thought. This thing makes an awful hum when in silent tuning mode. Everytime the lights change on the pedal it changes tone of the hum and is very irritating. So if you use a powered pedal board(such as a Furman) with any kind of distortion or wah(or anything with a high gain) this isn't a good idea. I'm definately returning this product.

See in tune! Stay in tune!

This is a great tuner that is practically bullet proof. It's solid and durable, and you could probably drive nails with it too! It has an excellent display that is perfect and easily visible from a normal distance, a strobe mode, and tunes easily in 440 and reads sharp & flat for easy detuning! Uses a 9 volt battery or you can purchase a power supply as well.

Good Value

I just purchased this tuner from the Guitar Center in San Jose. So far, I'm happy with the purchase and haven't had any of the issues described by others. The display is large and shows the note, in addition to the large lights which indicate if you're flat or sharp. The housing is very sturdy metal and has a chrome finish. I'm running it into a Splawn Competition (50W, modified marshall-type head) and don't have any noise problems. I'm running off the 9V battery. You can choose between silent tuning and audible tuning, depending on which jack you use. The box indicates that this device has a "true bypass" which is good to me. Overall, I like the value in this product.

Planet Waves Crashes

Yeah, I bought this particular pedal cuz i wanted to stay within my budget, but it turned out to be a pretty poor decision. I've had all kinds of problems with it and it has shorted out and cut off in the middle of shows. So over all i think the quality just doesn's compare to some of the other pedals out there.

Best Pedal Tuner on the Market!

After looking at the Boss TU-2 and Fender PT-100 chromatic tuner pedals, I decided on the Planet Waves CT04 due to its larger display. Upon receiving it, I was impressed! Not only is the Planet Waves pedal tuner built more durable than the Fender model, it's also built noticeably tougher than the Boss TU-2! The all-metal casing and heft of the Planet Waves CT04 makes it the most road-worthy pedal I've ever seen! The tuner performs excellently, is extremely accurate, and has a very bright display. Being able to choose between bypass and muted tuning also makes it versatile. The pedal produces no noise whatsoever, making it quieter than the competition. Powering the CT04 with a 1 SPOT (or similar power source), along with a Boss PCS20A daisy chain, allows the pedal tuner to power a truckload of effects pedals, making this the perfect choice for the pedalboard! This is a must-have item!
