The Planet Waves Pro String Winder And Cutter was one of the best additions i ever made to my array of guitar and bass tools. This tool can cut through even the thickest of those bass strings and is built to last. I bring it on stage with me werever i go and i will never go to a gig without it! It has a great tuning tool which will tune knobs as big as fenders tuning keys! Its built to be in tough situations when the average wire cutter just dosent quite "cut" it. I reccomend buying this tool, you will NOT be dissapointed.
The difference between changing your strings without a winder and with a winder is night and day. I use this for my bass and it works flawlessly. It also has a cutter which works extremely well. And this one is super cheap too!
This string winder makes changing strings a breeze! The peg winder part really does fit any bass pegs that I have ever encountered (it barley works on guitar too, it?s just a little too big), and winding the strings is very fluid with this tool. The string cutting end cuts the G,D, and A string with ease, however I encounter trouble with the E string, and the low B string is impossible to cut with this (that?s the reason for the 4/5), you have weaken the B with a pair of scissors before you use the cutter. Other than that this tool makes changing strings way more enjoyable and a heck of a lot easier.
