Planet Waves Auto-Trim Tuning Machines automatically cut off excess string while you tune. 18:1 gear ratio provides smooth, exact tuning. For guitars with their tuners 3 per side.
I like the Gotohs and Sperzals I have and decided to give these a try on Peavey I own. Nice tuners. They are easy to install, but a tad bit tricky to get the cut feature to behave at first - not a big deal to get over. The 18-1 ratio is nice. I'm not sure these hold a tune better than my other tuners, but since I don't use trem, I can't really offer an opion on that.

I bought these tuners for my 81' gibson Sonex 180 Deluxe. At first i thought that these tuners would be cheaply made. ThenI was amazed at the quality of these tuners. These just slipped into the peg hole that were already there. So There really was no need for drilling and such. The cuting tools on these really blew my mind. The finish is the cherry on top. Great Job Planet Waves.

The design is SO cool but you only get one chance to get it right since it cuts the string off so close to the tuner. I had one string pull through and I had to throw it away because it was too short to feed through again. Be SO careful and lock the strings down HARD.

These tuners are awesome. I put them on my Les Paul, I can now change all of my strings in under 5 minutes. Not that it was all that difficult to begin with, but I did pop a string on stage a week ago, and it made it real easy to change and get back to playing. Plus they do a really good job keeping tune. I would recommend these tuners

very nice locking tuners....i havent noticed much of a difference in playability between my guitar with them and without them, but if locking tuners are what you are looking for, these do the trick...exponentially speeds up the string changing process...very convenient having the strings cut themselves...only thing i noticed is that when you tighten the thumb screw on the bottom, make sure you snug it up a little bit with some pliers so it holds a little better. other than that, very very nice....

these things are junk. dont hold the strings even when clamped down with a visegrip.it cuts string and it slides out.wrecked a half dozen strings. i'm ticked. they should be taken off the shelves NOW!
