Protects your guitar and keeps you informed.

The Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar Humidifier with HTS uses an open-cell phenolic foam insert that gradually releases moisture and doesn't shrink or deform to cause leakage. Registers humidity levels from 20%-99% and temperature. Memory function records date/time of the highest and lowest temperature/humidity levels. Suspends from strings so it doesn't actually touch the guitar. Includes syringe for refilling.

Not Reliable

If you're looking for an accurate hygrometer to protect your instrument, keep looking... I tested 2 Planet Waves unites (purchased to monitor 2 martin guitars) and found that they both reported wild fluctuations in humidity over a 24 hour period. In my line of work, our environmental lab (used for testing electronics) has a quality hygrometer which recorded the set test area humidity (in a 24 hour period) between 48%-50%. Over the same period, in the same location, both Planet Waves units recorded readings between 31% - 52%. The Planet Waves units did not even agree with each other and recorded low humidity readings randomly over a 24 hour period as shown on each of the date/time memories. The test was repeated 3 times with similar results. Clearly these 2 Planet Waves units are not reliable and if representative of the design, should be avoided. As mentioned, it?s unclear if this is a design flaw or the result of something missed in quality control however it is clear that this defect would prompt the user to employ a humidifier product when it?s unnecessary.

Finally

Finally I have found a quality guitar humidifier that holds enough water as well as despenses it safely to maintain the humididty levels I like. It would take at least 3 of those little clay pots or messy sponges to do the job and where do you put them. Thanks Planet Waves!

a great package!

This is a must-have if you play a nice acoustic and live in a dry place, or even just a house that is heated. The gauge is a nice bonus, too - a lot of people over-humidify their guitars, which can be just as dangerous as dryness. I use this on my Gibson Songwriter Deluxe, and absolutely love it. It has done a fantastic job of keeping my guitar at the right humidity. A great product for a great price!

Easy to use!

This is the first humidifier that I have come across that took the guesswork out of humidifying my acoustic guitar! I have used several other soundhole humidifiers, but they were either too difficult to read or got my guitar wet. With the digital readout of this kit, there is no doubt about when I need to raise or lower the level of moisture. Great product!
