This ultra-compact controller gives any music enthusiast the ability to make his or her own unique music mixes. Bundled with the Virtual DJ Limited Edition software by Atomix Productions, the DDJ-ERGO controller enables you to be creative with your music collection as soon as you take the unit out of the box. The new controller also incorporates MIDI functionality, making it possible to be used with other MIDI compatible DJ software. The stylish controller is designed using contoured edges with black, white and gradient colors and a large 115mm platter for increased operability. The system also features Pulse Control that illuminates various areas of the controller to assist in the mixing process.
The integrated Pulse Control of the DDJ-ERGO provides you with visual prompts via various types of illuminations on its buttons and platters. The controller utilizes a new “Pure Platter” jog wheel that helps guide the user during performance with the movement of lights in accordance with the pitch, beat, and effects of the music as well as when a song is being loaded.
Mix Pulse – The mix pulse mode shows the difference in pitch of songs currently playing through the light of the jog wheel. As the pitch of songs begin to match, the intensity of the light increases. In conjunction with the music, the pulse of lights increases beat matching skills.
Beat Pulse – The embedded LEDs in the channel faders illuminate along with the beat of the current song playing. The illumination intensifies and weakens based on the output sound level.
Launch Pulse – Triggers a red light to illuminate on the jog wheel to signify a press of the track load button.
FX Pulse – The effect being applied to the currently playing song will be represented not only audibly but also via the light movements on the Jog wheel.
The DDJ-ERGO includes a copy of the “Virtual DJ Limited Edition” software by Atomix Productions that offers a broad range of functions for mixing songs, such as making loops, adding effects and creating samples, as well as the ability to mix up to 4-channels and even perform video playback.*
Laptop Dock Design
Like Pioneer’s other DDJ controllers, the DDJ-ERGO is designed to accommodate the placement of a laptop computer below the unit to help save room and bring the screen closer to the user. The controller also features removable legs, enabling it be used in angled or horizontal positions.
The DDJ-ERGO is compatible with Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI), allowing up to four-deck control and use of the controller’s dedicated sampler button. The unit is compatible with various DJ software such as Native Instruments’ TRAKTOR (not included).
The DDJ-ERGO utilizes power from USB connections found on most computers, eliminating the need for an external power supply.
Employs a P-LOCK Fader Cap locking mechanism to prevent the channel fader knobs and crossfader knob from slipping, and includes a high-quality, built-in audio interface for optimal sound input and output.

After toying around with several controlers, my guage to products is how easy is it to learn every aspect of it without reading any directions on it,, well i learned this in approx 4 hours of "black boxing it" Virtual Dj is the software i have previously on my laptop and i know of all of its fundamentals. The Ergo seemed, by reading reviews, the best match for the program. so far so good cant complain everything works perfect. as for booth control i have the balanced output on this hooked up to a small 6 channel mixer which intern i use the Aux out's on the mixer for my powered booth monitors, the additional EQ on the mixer and inputs for Mic's and a IPAD sure makes this a killer set up. As for my Pa system, im using EV elx 112p's and 118p's sick stuff !
This is an amazing DJ Controller at an affordable price. Small footprint and has all the features you might need.
I love this new controller it is affordable and good for beginner DJ's. The jog wheels are very responsive and works great with serato intro and the vitrual DJ software that comes with it. The only downside is that the mic isn't very powerful. Overall it is a good controller mostly aimed towards beginner DJ's
i love this controller. not cramped like other controllers. its like 2 cdj smash into one unit. works on 3 different software (Virtual DJ, Traktor and Serato intro). Powerful Pioneer soundcard. just plug and play. you can go wrong with this baby.
As a Dj that mostly spin with turntables this is by far the most, not cheap but affordable controller. I bought this just to use for house parties and its a great DJ tool for a small compact unit.I hopped on the controller wagon just to make it easy to take around. You can do the same with the ergo as you can with turntables. Another great thing is Now you can use it with serato Dj Intro. I love everything about it but just upset that there is no booth control.
The Pioneer ERGO is a great alternative for the TT1. I own both the TT1 and the ERGO; it's a solid built MIDI controller. I bought this because it's more compact. The only downside is that the Virtual DJ software it comes with is more geared towards starting DJs. I've played on vinyl for years and it does a great job at mimicking all the vinyl interactions. For a beginning DJ, it's great. For an experienced DJ, it's a super easy learning curve however, the Virtual DJ software makes it too simple. I recommend trying out the 4 deck layout to make it a challenge on mixes. I'd wait for the plugin support for Trackor in the meantime for this product.
