Professional, direct-drive analog turntable.

The DJ quality PLX-1000 direct-drive analog turntable is designed for DJs who enjoy the look, feel, and performance of vinyl for music playback. The model offers a highly familiar, user-friendly control layout, high-torque direct drive mechanism, and exceptional audio playback quality. Combine the PLX-1000 with a Pioneer professional series DJM mixer for an ideal system for true vinyl enthusiasts.

The PLX-1000 provides a user friendly layout familiar to top DJs of the past and present, providing quick tempo control capability on the right side of the player, start/stop button on the left side, and a high-torque platter with a lighted speed guide.

The direct drive mechanism of the PLX-1000 provides high-torque resulting in stable rotation and exceptional control. The turntable can achieve a starting torque of at least 4.5kg/cm and can reach its fixed rotation speed within 0.3 seconds (at 33 1/3 rpm).

To create an extremely stable player and prevent vibration, Pioneer utilized a heavy-mass zinc die-cast chassis for the top section of the player, reinforced with a bottom section made of 8-mm thick resin. The base of the unit was further enforced with 9-mm thick vibration-damping material that results in extremely stable playback. The tone arm also received great attention in build quality and design to maximize performance, using rubber insulation to minimize howling effects during audio playback. The RCA jacks feature gold-plated machine-cut parts for low impedance for excellent sound quality output.

The player provides a range of tempo adjustments from ±8% and ±16% to ±50%, giving users a range of pitch speeds. A "RESET" button for tempo sits next to the tempo slider for instant ±0% fixed rotation speed.

The PLX-1000 is built with a detachable power and audio cable connection for increased convenience, especially at times when the unit is being moved around. Users are also able to interchange cables to further customize the sound quality.

  • Awesome Turntable

As reviewed by Roger on 3/27/2015

I purchased this turntable about a week ago from the Canton, MI store. It is replacing my 40 year old Pioneer PL-530 that finally died after many years and hours of musical enjoyment. I am using in my home listening room with a high end stereo system to play an extensive vinyl collection. Awesome build, quality, and performance. I like the RCA connections it has that allow me to use true audiophile cables instead of attached cables that are usually of poor quality. It did come with a Shure cartridge. I did try this out but the sound (to me anyway) was not natural. I replaced it with a upper end audiophile cartridge which made a huge difference. I highly recommend this turntable. It should give many years of listening enjoyment, as my last Pioneer lasted 40 years .

  • Awesome Professional Turntable

As reviewed by Brian on 6/7/2015

As someone new to the art of DJ'ing and Turntablism I am taking classes at a school ran by professional DJ's. Of course they use Technics to learn and practice on. They also have a couple models of Stantons, in which nobody wants to be 'stuck on'. The Stantons just don't seem to perform as well or feel just right. (Admittedly I think as students we just aren't skilled enough to adapt to the different feel.) After trying the Pioneer PLX-1000's at a local Guitar Center, I instantly knew they were an accurate replacement for the Technics. Two weeks later I am really loving having my own professional_ turntables. I have even bought some used vinyl. I see why this hobby is so addicting. I am going to sell the DJ controller I had because without moving platters, it don't allow me to perform the tricks that I have learned on the turntables.

  • A Legend Awakened

As reviewed by Philip on 9/21/2014

Went into the Lawndale store where James gave me exceptional customers service (give him a raise), and a good bargain for 2 of these. I tried them out and I was impressed by the feel and the nature of these decks, including the black finish and blue light accents. I know that Technics had a major role in these new turntables, but right now i'm already enjoying doing mixes and scratching on these. It feels like being home again, just with a little extra excitement. Once again, kudos to all the staff, and to James for letting me rock these turntables!
