Availability:

Hi-fi sound, DJ-optimized frequency response with the comfort of memory-foam padding.

Pioneer HDJ-2000 Pro DJ Headphones are designed to enhance Pioneer's HDJ series. They're sleekly designed, top-flight headphones that encorporate inovations for higher levels of sound quality, comfort, and durability. First up, the HDJ-2000 headphones' high-quality frequency response is optimized for pro DJ use and ensures superb clarity with clear separation. This applies to any demanding environment, whether it's performing in a packed club or engineering in a studio. In fact, the Pioneer HDJ-2000 phones' 50mm driver units and high-flux magnets create outstanding resolution, from bass to treble, and are ideal for studio applications. Yet another neat feature is the capacity for 3,500mW of input, which means distortion is prevented, even at sustained loud volumes. The heavy-duty build of these headphones ensures zero resonance. Sporting a rugged, yet lightweight magnesium swivel/fold mechanism these Pioneer DJ headphones are robust, comfortable, and compact to transport. Each ear-cup gives excellent insulation and swivels a full 90 degrees using a new i-hinge with auto-return, which presents great flexibility, especially for DJs who prefer the 'on-shoulder' method of monitoring. To improve monitoring, there is also a convenient STEREO/MONO switch. Finally, heat-sensitive, low-rebound urethane-foam (memory-foam) padding with a comfortable protein leather surface cushions the ears and head for a no-fatigue fit. Pioneer HDJ-2000s are not only the perfect headphones for Pioneer DJM mixers but even feature a stylish aluminium outer finish to match the play/cue buttons on Pioneer's CDJ players.

  • Pioneer Does It again

As reviewed by KaeGee on 9/5/2010

With the release of these headphones, Pioneer has fully taken on the world standard in EVERYTHING related to the modern DJ game. (because whatever anyone says, comparably, the HDJ1000s are kind of a joke fidelity wise) I am a headphone affectionado, and have a pair of technics, sony's, grados, sennheisers, shures, etc.., almost going as far as having different headphones for different genres and situations, and I can honestly say that these headphones are worth every dollar. Their fidelity and staging is unlike anything I've heard, and with the memory foam pads and lightweight, their comfort is unmatched, especially for longer wear times. I no longer experience much ear fatigue. While other headphones scream, these provide a much more balanced sound without even a hiccup at high volumes. The bass is really good, but its definitely different than most dj headphones that really push the bass into your head and ear, the HDJ2000s enclose your ear with the lows (which I think for some might take a minute to get used to before they complain about the less responsive low end compared to say, the sonys.) but after you get used to it, you really appreciate the different, more balanced design. And just like the manual says, they are perfectly matched to the pioneer DJM mixers, and when having these plugged into a 800 you get to really experience the music. I love these headphones, and literally fantasize about putting them on my ears and listening to music. Enjoy.

  • I Like these A-Lot ... for now...

As reviewed by Alex on 8/13/2010

well coming from the Technic 1200's which are a great sounding pair of headphones and going to these .... wow. 1st thing i noticed is that packaging they came in was not cheap.. nice box. you open it and i gotta say they are impressive at 1st look. Im not to partial on the bag that came with them. Its not thick like the technics one... i thought for nice headphones you would get a little bit better protective bag for them... perhaps a case...?? I mean for what you spend you should get a case. I do not like the cord that attaches from the mixer to the cans... at all!! Altho once its in there it very nice and tight i can see the mini midi prongs wearing really fast in the future which could be a big problem so i would recommend leaving them plugged in together all the time. The are Extreemly light on your head when you put them on. You would not expect that at first glance but the magnesium is a nice touch to the construction durability and lightness of the headphone. The also do cover your ears nicely and show comfort with out squeezing on your head like a lemon. I have not had a chance to use them at a club yet but i can say at home for a recording type setting they sounded great. But best of all they didn't pound my ear drum like the technics. You will definitely feel a lot less ear fatigue with these as well. I actually feel that the memory foam cover can padding will last a long time. Many of my friends bought the 1000's version which used to break a lot. I Don't see that with these. I would still not say that they are as durable as my technics but definitely a superior headphone in every other way. Hope this helps -

  • Serious..real, real serious...

As reviewed by dparks on 4/8/2011

The difference of higher max input (3500mW) and 50mm drivers and lower impedance is profound....or perhaps the greater breath of frequency range. I'm not technically sophisticated particularly with respect to headphone specifications regarding performance but the audible, comparative difference from the SHR840s to these HDJ headphones is truly astonishing. The HDJs ability to handle both active and passive true (analog) bass frequencies from my passive Fender J basses, active MusicMan Stingrays and my Pedulla Thunder bass 5 string is extraordinary and well beyond what I thought was possible. I've lined the HDJs directly into my Pedulla's instrument cable output jack and also through my BOSS ME50-B pedal to test/evaluate the 50mm driver handling of the low B frequency attack and clarity. The fidelity and sound articulation is incredible. Comparatively, the price difference between the SHURE 840s and the HDJ2000S is negligible with respect to the PROFOUND difference in in sound and quality of construction. I would urge and encourage anyone buying "upper end" headphones to buy theses. Incredible engineering, design and performance.
