Precision EQ and accurate crossfader curve control for ultimate sound sculpting.

The Pioneer DJM-909 Professional Mixer offers DJs innovative features including precise cross fader/fade curve control, user-customizable cross fader glide adjustment, and touch screen control of the built-in effects. Pioneer continually strives to meet the wide-ranging needs of the cutting-edge DJ and this music mixer does just that by combining innovative technology with proven Pioneer quality.

Sensitive yet solid EQ knobs, durable transform switches, and precise and accurate crossfader curve control. Most importantly, Pioneer has developed an original "non-contact" cross fader technology with unprecedented durability and reliability.

The DJM-909 has the most precise and customizable crossfader in the industry. It's highly durable and has double fade control allowing each half of the fader to be adjusted independently! All fader curves can also be seen and adjusted with visual reference on the mixers' fader curve adjust screen. If that isn't enough, the crossfader feel can also be adjusted to your preference. Each channel fader curve can be adjusted from a smooth volume change to a dynamic volume ON/OFF at the tip of the channel faders (bottom or top). You will be able to crab-scratch the channel faders from either the top end or bottom end of the fader.

Connect with Pioneer's CDJ series, including the CDJ-100S, CDJ-800, CDJ-700S, CDJ-1000, and CDJ-1000MK2 to employ the fader start capability. The user can automatically start or stop playback with the sliding crossfader or channel fader.

Mixer Layout

The DJM-909 includes 50 built-in effects and a touch sensitive display. Clean, open fader area for scratching and beat juggling. Session line-in with volume control, cueable master output, mic input, and selectable phono/line switches. Tempo tap button, cueable effects switch, and a plug in for footswitch to control effects.

Touch Screen and built-in effects

A total of 50 different effects can be independently assigned, utilized, and tweaked through the mixer's user-friendly touch screen control. Additional knobs also exist for further parameter adjustments. Revolutionary effect presets range from Fader Synths to Transform and from Touch Phaser to Vocoder. A send/return is also built in to connect an external effector.

Fader Effect

Fader effect can be assigned to a channel fader or cross fader from the touch screen so that the faders are capable of controlling and varying the effect's parameter simply by moving the cross fader or channel fader.

Beat Effect

The Beat Effect is capable of synchronizing effects with the BPM for high accuracy effect timing.

Auto BPM Counter

The professional sound mixer is equipped with an auto BPM counter so users can quickly view the song tempo.

Worth the money

This mixer has up and downs like anything. yeah it only has 2 channels and yeah its over a grand. BUT BUY IT!! DJ's want the most out of their mixer, and you get it with the 909. Besides the touch screen with all the effects, my favorite feature is being able to control your crossfader to a T. A-trak uses it and he is the best. so do yourself a favor and get it

DJM-909

This mixer is a good buy depending on its application. Little pricey but well worth the price because it's a powerful mixing tool. Only down side is that it only has 2 channels at one time.

Everything you want

I think this is most likely the best mixer you can get. Assuming you can still get one while they are out there. They no longer make them. What I love about it so much is how customizeable everything is. Sure most mixers let you adjust thigns to some degree. But the line is nearly gone with this mixer. You want a loose/stiff cross fader? You can have it. You want the Up Faders/crossfader to be reversed? Sure you can. What about changing the cross fader so the right side stays a full 100% volume, while the Left goes quickly from 100% to 0% by the time it gets half way to the end. You can do that. In fact you can combine all of these in any fashion, whenever you want to. The touch pad effects box is ingenious. Not only does it have about every effect you could want. If you want to assign the effect to a fader, or only filter the effect through only the hi's mid's or low's, you can do that. Most mixers have a flanger with a wet and dry setting. The 909 let's you choose between 2 types of Flangers, whether you want to have it knob based or fader based, whether you want to flanger just the hi's, or only the mid's and low's, whether you want it to flange on a tapped BPM or auto coutned bpm, OR a preset counter like 1/4 or 32/1. So now, you have a flanger that could be used in over 50 different ways. Not every effect works like this, but most of them do. That's extremely flexibile. There's always something new to learn or try, It's extremely innovative to be able to make your OWN effects with a very well built touch pad. This pad even lets you change the contrast and brightness to your liking. Everything is solid. The buttons, and knobs all are built well. The only true thing this mixer kind of skimped around was using plasticy knobs for the Mic volume, the Master, Booth, and Headphone cue. It's small and it's not the easiest to use. But it's never been a problem. Besides, the cue for headphones is ingenious too. Why press buttons to cue a channel when you could use a crossfader. You can preview a mix. Only drawback is when you do set the cue in the center, the volume drops. Not sure why. But it's easily corrected with the Headphone volume. It's not a huge drop, only a noticeable one. Some people will rate this a 4/5, mostly because it doesn't have 4 channels. What the hell. That's a bad rating right there. Why? Because most DJ's and yourself, will hardly ever use more than 2 channels at once. YOU CAN input 2 turntables, and 2 CDJs to this mixer, without a problem. But who seriously uses more than 2 channels at once. Hardly any Dj anymore. There's no need. You can easily switch inputs if you need to. So it offers everything and MORE than pretty much any other mixer for less money than the rest. The only "lacking" feature for this mixer is it's not a MIDI mappable one. BOO HOO. Learn to mix without laptops. What's so great on your computer than you need to assign your computer to it. If you need to make truely on the fly sounds, then you probably are more of a Live PA musician, and shouldn't use a MIDI mixer anyways. I still can't find a reason not to get any other mixer right now. They covered everything that any Dj would need, or want. If I were you, be smart and give this mixer a chance before running off with the DJM 800 or others. You could be missing out, despite what the community says.

Sweet mixer!

Sweet mixer. Built like a tank - Metal not that fake plastic stuff. With firm fader handles and adjustable crossfader tension, meaning its tunable to how sticky or buttery you want that CF to be. I really like all the options you have for running sound out of this kit,you got XLR and RCA but i wish there was a USB. i like that you can assign channel two the audio from channel one and use the faders to control how wet you want the effects on channel one (you can also double up on the effects - i like the PAN and Flanger combo). I had a DJM600 but transitioned to the 909. found out that with two channels instead of four, I became a better, more confident mixer and DJ. Overall: my mixer of choice

One of the Best Mixers Money Can Buy!

The Pioneer 909 is one of the best mixers a DJ can possibly ask for. It is built like a tank, and the onboard touch screen effects are absolutely indepensible. All you have to do is take care of this unit, and it will take care of business 10 out of 10 times. A must buy if you have the money!
