Product Information

All-digital mixing with onboard effects and loop sampler.

The Pioneer DJM-400 audio mixer matches Pioneer's CDJ-200 CD turntable in both function and design, allowing DJs to expand the range of DJing and remixing. Its symmetrical design is the same size as a CDJ-200, enabling an easy fit in a compact DJ coffin.

World's First In-Loop Sampler

An intelligent 24-bit/96kHz sampler automatically detects the tempo of a song during playback, sampling it for a length of 4 beats then loops the sample. Since the sampled sound is in sync with the beat of the tune being played, no matter the tempo, it enables live remixing like never before.

Samples are automatically stretched and compressed to match the beat. The Pioneer DJ Mixer will store five samples onboard for a total of 12 seconds of sample time.

Onboard Effects and Equalization

Onboard effects automatically detect the beats per minute of the music and sync to the beats. The DJM-400 Mixer includes seven onboard effects: Delay, Echo, Filter, Flanger, Phaser, Robot, and Roll. All effects are processed at 24-bits for the highest quality sound. A new "beat select" button allows more intuitive and aggressive DJ playing and remixing.

Each channel on this Pioneer mixer has 3-band isolator EQ with full cut capability. The EQ ranges from +9dB to -<## HC infin ##> (infinity) for total control of the sound.

The DJM-400 Mixer offers a number of key features for professional DJs. It has the ability to select either of 2 microphone connections or one stereo line connection. A fader start that starts playback by simply sliding the crossfader or channel fader when connected to a Pioneer CDJ product. A peak level meter lets you check audio input levels for each channel or for the master, and a "talk over" feature automatically lowers track volume for the DJ to speak over the track.

Pioneer Sweeps Again

Pioneer has always made very high quality products. This is no exception. There are many high quality DJ mixers, however they are very expensive. This is a cheaper 2-channel version of the DJM-800 and carries most of the features of the DJM-800. The in-loop sampler is very good, and it is very accurate. The crossfader is pretty nice, and the sound quality is very nice if you use nice CD players of Turntables with it. I used this mixer with the Numark Axis 9 Cd Players, and I thought this mixer sounded fabulous.

Great mixer!

This is a 2 channel version of the higher models (DJM 800) same inner workings and strong build that you have come to expect from Pioneer. The effects allow you to really manipulate beats while not going overboard in the mix. The inloop sampler is awesome and very straight forward. The layout for this unit is great. I specially like the EQ controls (spacing & height) and placement of the faders.

Superb Mixer!

This mixer is the best mixer for the money. If you don't have the money for the Pioneer DJM-800 this is the next best thing. The sound quality is great and the on board effects are always fun. This is a very well made mixer as well. When I really get into my sets I don't need to worry about a knob coming off or something breaking because I have that assurance of Pioneer build quality. Definantly an awesome mixer that I recomend to all that want the best of the best with out having to shell out big money.

good mixer

This is two channel mixer by Pioneer. Before I bought it, I was wondering about the crossfader, but it has same one as DJM-909, which means it's better than crossfader of 500, 600, and 800. Sound quality is not better than what I expected. It sounds it provides sound between 500 and 600, but it's still good. You can get more than what you spend $550 on this mixer. EQ is great, sound quality is good, and cross fader is also okay. I recommend this mixer to all of bedroom djs, mixtape djs and club djs. (especially the one who can not afford DJM 800 but want to use similar mixer)
