I picked up two of these 10" triggers for my studio. I hooked them up to one of my drum brains and took them for a test drive. They worked perfectly. I was not disappointed at all. The price on these is so low that I actually paid more for the harware to mount them. I'll probably pick up two more in the future. If you're looking for good cymbal triggers, you can't beat this price. Pintech makes larger sizes too, but I don't know why you'd need them any bigger unless you just want to have big black plastic frisbees mounted on your drum rack.

I was looking for a ride with size. It accomadates size, but the plastic makes it louder . It is made of hard plastic, and wants to spin on the stand. It has no knock-out to hold it in place like most brands. The sound through my kit is good. Triggering works nice. I just think that they need some work to be contenders.

Comments about Pintech Trigger Cymbal:

Bought the PC14 to upgrade a DTX400K kit. Buying the Pintech cymbal and a Yamaha CYAT500 cymbal mount was $30 cheaper than the Yamaha PCY90AT.

Compared to the stock Yamaha single zone cymbal the Pintech is a bare bones as you can get. A cheap piece of plastic, a piezo sensor a piece of foam. There are youtube videos about making a comparable cymbal for $9 from an old tupperware plate. Visually the embossed 'PINTECH' and stylized American Eagle sticker do nothing more than cheapen the already bare bones looks of cymbal.

It does trigger well. But there is no rebound and the pad is loud. Don't miss the pad otherwise you get a dull 'thud' and little more. Compared to the Yamaha cymbal where you can hit just about anywhere.

It is large, and makes a good ride cymbal. I didn't have any trouble with the cymbal spinning on the stand. But again, I use it as a ride so not a lot of heavy hitting.

If they would spend a few dollars to either increase the strike area or just put some lipstick on this pig it'd be a real winner. But for now its a great big MEH. But it if you need the barest of bare triggers on a piece of plastic that looks like a cymbal.

I use this on my Yamaha dtx set at home. Not a bad cymbal replacement for my older, unresponsive crash. Responsive and sensitive. Hopefully it stays that way for a long time.

            Comments about Pintech Trigger Cymbal:

If you own a entry level electric kit of any kind, you can't go wrong with this. Once your warrenty runs out on one of those kits, your are usually directed to buy a more expensive cymble that goes with that company's higher end kits. For practice or small cramped-room rehersal, the 9 incher is just fine. I also beleive it has a better feel and more sensitive than the cymbal pads that came with my Simmons SD5X kit

                Comments about Pintech Trigger Cymbal:

Using as my hi-hat on my acoustic to electronic conversion. It works flawlessly and is holding up fine. I mostly do classic rock covers and beach / reggae type stuff so I'm not beating the snot out of it, just playing it like a normal person would play a hi-hat.

I have about a dozen (3-4 hour) shows on it so far. It is plugged into my Roland TD-10 with TDW-1 Expansion card. I set the trigger as a CY-8 and dialed it in from there. Once dialed in it is pretty expressive, we cover Message In A Bottle and it picks up all the intricate hi-hat work on that tune just fine. I'm completely happy with it's performance, and if it keeps holding up I'll be really pleased, I will update this if it fails but so far so good.

These are great to replace my Simmons cymbals that came with my set that began to rattle everytime I hit them because they broke inside the cymbal housing. I just went ahead and replaced all my Simmons cymbals. I like when I hit them you can't hear the tapping noice of the stick, they are very quiet.

I purchased three Pintechs: 1x10" and 2x14". My only regret is that I wish I had gotten all of them in 14".

We were in a pinch and needed to replace our Roland CY hi-hat in a hurry. Ya get what ya pay for. We knew this one is Single Zone. We didn't know that it wouldn't stay put on its stand. Once Roland's warranty is settled for our hi-hat, we'll have a nice target for Ted Nugent to use.
