I was disappointed with these practice cymbals. The definition is terrible (very little rebound, impossible to roll). Also, they really aren't that quiet; probably five times as loud as a traditional practice pad. I was going to use two of the 14" as a hi hat for my DW Go Anywhere Practice kit, but will have to just use them as crashes instead.
I made my own hi hat controller for an E-kit and used a Yamaha PCY135 for the top cymbal. I cut down a 16" Pintech to use as the bottom hat. It serves only as a stop and stabilizer for the PCY135 when the hats are closed. So far it seems up to the task. Time will tell if it lasts. I can't comment on its use as a regular practice cymbal, but it doesn't seem like it would be very quiet or offer realistic stick feel and rebound.
