Overview

Simple to operate, yet tremendously powerful and flexible, the Infinity Looper from Pigtronix sets a new world standard for latency-free looping. Their state-of-the-art looping platform provides instantaneous record, playback, dub, undo and redo, on two stereo loop pairs that can be configured in several ways. On top of superior speed and a unique, performance friendly feature set, Infinity Looper sounds downright incredible thanks to its discreet analog limiter stages, transparent analog pass-through and 24 bit / 48 kHz HD recording engine.

Infinity’s innovative “SYNC MULTI” mode provides a multiplier function allowing the length of Loop 2 to be 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 times the length of Loop 1. The two loops can also be run out of sync or even in SERIES, for verse/chorus song structures. Ninja style input split mode assigns Input 1 to Loop 1 and Input 2 to Loop 2, effectively allowing performers to record and overdub separate instruments on separate loops, into isolated amps simultaneously.

The Pigtronix Infinity also provides a long awaited AUX Loop output intended to send looped audio to stage monitors. This is especially helpful for drummers to hear and stay in time. An expression pedal jack for Loop Volume allows hands-free control of the overall audio output. Pigtronix thought of everything and kept only the F.A.T.

MIDI input for beat clock sync causes loop start and stop points to obey Pro Tools or any other DAW / sequencer that outputs MIDI. The Infinity’s USB access allows you to transfer your music to a computer at full 24bit, 48kHz resolution for further mixing, mastering or immediate publication. Pigtronix has also implemented audio upload with automatic format conversion, allowing you to upload virtually any digital audio file onto the Infinity Looper.

The must-have Pigtronix pedal for any musician. The Infinity Looper will inspire compositional depth and engaging performances; it is the ultimate practice and performance tool for every style of music.

Remote Switch:
The Infinity Remote Switch is a dual momentary switch designed to complement the Infinity Looper pedal. Unleashing the full potential of the Pigtronix Infinity Looper, this compact remote switch provides access to UNDO / REDO and REVERSE functionality as well as a few other hidden features.

UNDO / REDO:
When an overdub is in the process of being recorded (Loop LED is orange), pressing the UNDO switch will cause the Infinity to permanently erase that overdub at the end of the current loop cycle. Any material from previous overdubs that has already been merged with the initial recording will not be undone.
When an overdub has been recorded and closed (Loop LED is green), pressing the UNDO switch will remove that overdub instantly and retains the overdub for REDO if desired. Any material from previous overdubs that has already been merged with the initial recording will not be undone.

Reverse:
– Pressing the REVERSE button means that REVERSE playback will be started at the beginning of the next loop cycle. Pressing REVERSE also works during the initial recording of a loop.
– Once you are in REVERSE playback, pressing the REVERSE button means that playback will go forwards at the beginning of the next loop cycle.
– Once you are in REVERSE playback, you can use the UNDO switch to flip flop back and forth between forwards and reverse versions of the same layer instantly.
– Hitting REVERSE and then UNDO before the end of the loop cycle will cancel the REVERSE command.

Rec –> Overdub –> Play:
In response to numerous customer requests, we have implemented a feature that allows you to go directly from recording the base layer, straight into overdub mode. Once you have started the base layer recording, simply press the UNDO switch to close your initial loop and go straight into playback with overdub active. Press the appropriate Loop footswitch as you normally would to close the overdub when desired and begin regular playback.

Instant Clear:
When one or both loops are stopped, hitting UNDO will trigger an instant erase of the currently armed loop. This lets you simply leave the unit in ALL mode and retain the option to clear individual loops by pressing the UNDO switch after the desired loop has been stopped.

Varispeed:
To activate Varispeed mode, press and hold the REVERSE switch for two seconds. Depending on the sample rate used during loop recording, Varispeed can play back loops up or down any interval from a minor second to a perfect octave. The default Interval selection is one octave, enabling REVERSE and UNDO to double-speed and half-speed recorded audio respectively.

Comments about Pigtronix Infinity Looper Pedal:

I've played around with a solid handful of loop pedals, and this one is the best. I did a ton of research before I made the purchase, and, even though the sales guy at the store recommended the Boss RC-300, I think the Infinity Looper is far superior.

I'm very impressed with this machine, having upgraded from an old Boss RC-20. Unlike other loop pedals, it feels like this one was really created by and for musicians. They must have had a lot of seasoned loopers give input on the design, because it's as though they read my mind and installed all of the features I always wished I'd had on the old RC-20.

You have the option of creating 2 different loops (each with infinite overdubs) that can be played at the same time, or separately so that you can create verse-chorus song structures. It also has a lot of different options for stopping one or both loops simultaneously, separately, or by fading them out, so if you are a live performer this is crucial for making non-awkward endings to your songs. The two different loops can be synced to the same length, or be can be totally different lengths.

There are also a lot of just little handy features that I'm amazed I haven't seen before, such as having all of the lights blink at the beginning of the loop, so you can't lose track and get lost in your own song. Simple stuff that really makes using the pedal easier, especially while live performing.

So far, I love my infinity loop pedal and highly recommend it. The Boss RC-300 gives you more loops, but it clips the beginning of your recording, which in effect creates an undesired delay effect. I don't know what they hell they were thinking -- obviously if you are live looping you need to just be able to tap the pedal in rhythm and have the recording start instantly. Seems pretty basic, but it's amazing how many loop pedals have these flaws that actually make them really awkward to use and terrible for live performance.

Not so with the infinity. I love it.

Comments about Pigtronix Infinity Looper Pedal:

Hopefully this saves people some time & money...

My looping experience began with my Boss DD-6 delay pedal's Hold mode but it was only good for looping short riffs at just a few seconds long.

Then I got a Boss DD-7 delay pedal with a longer Hold mode but at just 6+ seconds it was not long enough for longer chord progressions. Also loop time was cut in half if I went with a stereo rig which I prefer.

So I then bought a dedicated loop pedal; the Boss RC-1 which dramatically increased loop length/functions. But little did I know along with longer loops comes the eventual drifting out-of-sync a drum machine's steady tempo.

So I spend more money & upgraded to the Boss RC-3 because it had a Tap Tempo function but it was nearly impossible to set the Tap Tempo perfectly with my newly acquired Beat Buddy drum pedal.

I realized what I needed involved Midi functionality which I knew little about. I saw that the Boss RC-30 Loop Station had Midi but overall was way too big & had features I didn't need.

So I began searching around & found the Pigtronix Infinity Looper which solved all my looper needs & then some.

The Infinity's Midi Sync function works perfectly with my Beat Buddy drum pedal's Midi. The Infinity's compact size is great for my pedal boards yet is loaded with features. The Infinity sounds incredible. The internal components are high quality; I feel my signal is better & clearer just by going through the Infinity. One of the coolest features is it has two independent and/or simultaneous loop "tracks" for doing verse chorus verse type stuff which is rare for such a small loop pedal. It has an undo feature to erase last overdub. I've been able to do a real-time one-man-show with this thing. Zero latency. I would be comfortable using this in a live setting. It's also in stereo which helps if you run your pedals in stereo. But if you have a mono signal you could use the other channel for a microphone, keyboard, etc.

I can't begin to get into all the other features that the Infinity has. Features I didn't even realize existed or could be achieved in realm of looping. But by realizing these features I realize how much creative control the Infinity gives me.

I'd say if you're serious about looping & don't have a competent drummer do yourself a favor & take advantage of the Midi Sync function with either the Beat Buddy or another Midi enabled drum machine. I did & I never looked back.

The only flaw is the price but it's a fair price when considering build quality, friendly customer service if needed, feature, compact size, etc. And with Guitar Center financing options you could pay it off with no interest as I did.

    Great live performance looper

    By Peter Mccallin

    from Columbus Ohio

Comments about Pigtronix Infinity Looper Pedal:

This looper isn?t what I would call a practice looper like the RC-3 or 30. Don?t buy it if you are expecting to have built in drum patterns and quantized loops (which are great for practice and beginners) or if you have lazy foot. The looper does quantize using midi clk signals for subsequent loops if you are using the midi port with a drum machine or other midi controller. At times I am using an iPad with midi app as the controller. The audio quality is superb with no noticeable loss even after multiple overdubs. It has an intuitive interface and requires minimal use to master with the exception of the stop mode which you must hold to change settings. My favorite of these settings is the fade to end. The multisnyc eliminates the monotonous patterns created by a fixed 1 to 1 pattern however it not so useful in a live setting unless you have planned your loops out in advance. Having the flexibility to do series loops is a must in my opinion for live gigs. The form factor is perfect, both small and stable during use. The price is a little high (hence the four stars) . I use it for playing jazz and pop.

Comments about Pigtronix Infinity Looper Pedal:

Pigtronix Infinity Looper, wow, this is really amazing, instantaneous reactions with the dpdt buttons, no digital distortion going on even with over ten overdubs on one loop (and can handle much more than ten overdubs as well). Every note cuts through as close to perfect as possible, and very little tone loss from dry signal to the playback signal. Highly recommend this pedal.
