Maybe you are skeptical as I was about this PA system. But after few weeks of using it I decided it was time to give it a fair review. The speakers and the boxes sound pretty good and they are much better than some other higher priced systems. They can be used with a stand (they come with the stand hole for pole), as monitors or stacked. Nice carpet finish (no plastic, nice wood boxes) and the speaker/horn are good enough for jam/rehearsing (it might work for a gig in a small place but that is not at least the reason I bought it) The 410 has plenty of power, good EQ and even a digital delay (no great but definitely usable) I use this system for amplification of drum machines, guitars and voices. I tried similar and more expensive systems and this one was the best and the price cannot be better.

i'm amazed that there have been no revues saying this yet but, the speakers this package gives you are rated at 80w and the head is rated at 100w. in other words every time i turn this thing up past 5 it cuts out. i called tech support just to make sure mine wasn't defective and sure enough i was told that "thats normal". its just not right to sell unmatched parts in a package that claims to be made to go together, granted i could still buy new speakers that ARE rated for the 100w head but that really shouldn't have to be necessary.

Outstanding Product

By Bill

from Standish Ca.

I've been using this for about a month now and honestly can't see anything wrong with it. I've read the one, two and three star reviews and really can't understand the low rating? I can not see why anyone wouldn't like this Powerpod/speaker system. Maybe they expect more for the money? maybe they're not adjusting it right? If you adjust this little system up so loud that it distorts when adjusted correctly then your music is too radical for this little outfit. If you want to break windows (or your ear drums) then it's not for you. In that case you might want to go ahead and spend a few thousand dollars to get that will. The price can't be beat for the quality of such a powerful little PA system. I too was very skeptical of it's quality because of the low price. When I received it I was absolutely amazed of it's sound and versatility. When I plug in my acoustic guitar and adjust the level to match the mic(s) and room size I couldn't be happier with how it performs. Granted, I/we do not play gigs other then for family and friends, however if I/we do at some point in time, I would not hesitate to use this system, especially for a small venues. My wife says I'm a person that can't be pleased because I'm too critical about every thing, I proved her wrong with this outfit. I can't find anything bad to say about it. It's kinda refreshing not to write a bad review. If I was to give a recommendation to first time buyers, it would be to purchase this system before the price goes up! which I believe will at some point because the quality exceeds the selling price when compared to other units of equal size and performance. But, that's just my opinion, Thanks for the opportunity to express it.

It's OK

By Jimmy Eng

from Seattle, WA

I bought this for our large family parties. Something to use as a PA system, play music, and karaoke. It works and honestly it's hard to imagine getting two speakers, an amp/mixer, etc. for anything cheaper than the price I paid. My only complaint is that I just don't think the speakers (or is it the amp/mixer?) sound good at all and I don't consider myself an audiophile. If I could describe the sound, it would be that everything seems a bit muted. Treble/highs sound attenuated. Bass is a tad muddy. But again, hard to expect more at this price point.

Amazing!

By Tim Tolosa

from Cross Plains, TX

I knew from the reviews that this was a pretty good system, but i am rather picky when it comes to sound, so i was a bit skeptical. but...once the system arrived and I got it set up (which was very easy), I couldn't believe the clear, accurate sounds coming from this small system. I am a music minister, and am using this in our choir room for audio playback, accompaniment, and microphone amplification. This mighty system handles all of our needs with no problem. I highly recommend this package as a great value!

Good for the price.

By Andrew Erwin

from Arizona

I just opened and setup the product today. Overall I am happy, with this purchase. I'm giving it 4 stars solely based on price. It's a good deal. However, after I set it up, I was worried I had a bad unit because I had no sound. After I verified the connections, I unscrewed the mic and immediately saw a wire hanging off. This mic is DOA. I would say that's some bad quality control in the mic department. Fortunately I didn't buy this for the mic. So it's not worth the RMA. I grabbed one of my mics and it worked fine. It's plenty loud. Vocal quality was good. I saw it had tape in so I tried it out. Definitely geared toward a vocal sound. I played some imagine dragons and I was not impressed with the quality. However, I switched to Neil Young and it sounded great. There's no adjustment for the tape-in so if your going to use that feature, you'll have to be choosy with your song selections. In the end I bought it for speaking engagements, and it seems it will work fine for that. so I went ahead and gave it four stars.

Excellent PA system, entry level or experienced professional

By Michael Mills

from Texas

I purchased the Phonic 740 pa system package with 15" speakers, microphone and speaker/microphone cables to use as a "grab and go" system in my commercial sound service inventory. After testing the system, I put it to work at a local Knights of Columbus hall during a Pilot Club chili supper/auction. In a room approximately the size of a gymnasium containing some 250+ people and a noisy air conditioning system, this pa easily cut through the crowd noise with clear sound. I was VERY happy with the results (I had a backup JBL/QSC/Shure system in my van just in case...). The cables are fine, just a little too short for a venue this size, so I used longer cables which I built myself. The only changes I made were to replace the connector plates on the back of the speakers with ones of higher quality/heavier duty with 1/4" jacks and two Neutrik speakon connectors, and install a couple of heavy duty chest handles on the speaker cabinets to make transport a little easier. I highly recommend this system.

Great to start off with for screaming.

By EJ Redding

from Marietta, GA

This PA is amazing for the price, allot of possibility for any band. The PA catches allot of the distortions from screamed vocals and it just sounds almost like studio quality music. You can't go wrong here to start off your studio. I know this is a small review compared to others, but I just felt the need to let any screamers know that this is a good PA to start your career with, only problem is if you have a more active or violent style when you get into the music try not to grab the XLR cable allot, the cable is very low quality, I would suggest investing some money into a much better cable

Great Bargain, but chords were 16', NOT 20' as stated

By JIM JAGER

from Kalamazoo, MI

This is my 1st ever P.A., it sounds great, and has more than enough power for my puposes. I host 'Open Mic' nights at a small bar, and will eventually use for 3 piece Rock-a-billy band at Bike Nights and other smaller venues. Not intended for huge venues, this will work fine for me. Only issus is the chords: they are NOT 20' as stated, I measured 16'. I would have given it 5 stars if not for that mis-information. I am buying better/ longer chords for about $30. At the open mic, we have never used more than 3 channels fo far: 2 for mics and 1 for accoustic/ electric guitar. Master Vol was at about 1/4, individual volumes about 1/2 and it was PLENTY LOUD. So again: more power than I need. Sound had warmth, and just plain sounded NICE.
