Good for practices and small gigs

By Greg Hamilton

from Orlando, FL

We have a little jazz trio and have been using one of these for over a year now (we bought it before Christmas last year) and we just recently bought a second one so we can leave the one in the practice room all set up without having to unplug everything whenever we go out to do gigs at small clubs. We do have a larger mixer for the bigger venues, but the sound isn't quite as clear as what we get from the powerpod. Yet to experience any troubles with either unit, and we do push the things hard and they get a good workout at least 3 times a week. Can't recommend it enough.

Well I purchased this for a christmas gift because the reviews were very positive. I used it in my bedroom for about 2 months. It really had a nice sound for what I paid for it. but suddenly out of the blue after having used it in good working condition the night before, I tried to turn it on the next day, and no power. Very frustrating to say the least. Maybe some of them are good, but mine was a lemon. I would say this would be a great deal if they were reliable, mine however, was not.

Died after 3 days

By henry

from henderson, ky

I had this amp shipped to my parents, where I jammed with a friend over the weekend. I didn't have room to bring my other 2 amps, so I hooked my guitar and synth up to it. Vocals and synth sounded decent but the guitar sounded sub-par. PA really brought out the deep bass sounds of the synth. Unfortunately, the jam session was short lived. After about 2 hours in, my buddy was playing on the synth and I guitar. Suddenly, sound no longer was emitted through the speakers (both Phonic). The amp still turned on and the LEDs lit up, indicating that it was receiving sound from the instruments but nothing came out. I see no fault of mine. I probably used it 10 hours total. Ambient temps reached no higher than 75 F. I didn't turn it up higher than 50% volume (at the time it was at about 30%). Fortunately, I still had the packaging. I'm going to RMA it and hopefully the next one will work properly. I'd save up for something from a reputable name.

A great mixer-amplifier

By Henry Jenkins

from Austin, TX

It's got good power, clear sound, and is built like a tank. Really!! I've dropped the unit a couple of times since I bought it a few months back and it's barely gotten a mark and never failed me after. I move it between the club we play at and the hall where we practice every week, so I can say it's easy to carry. The microphone inputs are really great. The voices come in very very clear! And what's great is it has a few different operation modes so we can choose to use our monitor's signal for the amplifier so it works perfect in our practice sessions. The effects are quite good too but you have to find one that you like before you can use it properly. Recommended!
