phonic powerpod 740 plus

i must say, overall this has been an amazing PA head. im running it though two 15-10-piezo tweezer speakers and for the most part it has an amazing sounds. if your looking to use it as a speech PA for a school or else wise its amazing, easy to setup, and adujstably loud. Also if your in a band, you can set it up to go past the drums and over amps and you can mellow it out if you play acousticly. The 99 preset effects are ok for guitar but for vocals the mainly just annoying. a few problems ive had are the it can get alot of feed back if you are to close to the speakers. another thing is that there is alot of fuzz and so i put the graphic equalizers all the way down and get rid of the (which lessens sound quality. but it is quick and easy to set up. it is portable. the controls are simple but are all you will need. the footswich feature is use ful to. also another thing i like is you can run effect through it like you would a send return on an amp and use your own effects on all or some of the channels. overall this is an amazing PA and you by far should buy it if you are looking for a PA.

Not bad!

I bought this PA in hopes of getting a cheap but effective system for practices and small gigs. It worked! With powerful speakers this thing is plenty loud but is not truly stereo. There is 2 channels but they are "Main" and "Monitor" with no independent "left" and "right" for each. In fact you cannot hook up a CD player or mixing board and get stereo output through the normal aux/tape in inputs. You have to hook your left input cable to "Aux" and right input cable to "Tape In" or vice versa and use the Aux level on the main channel and the Tape In level on the monitor channel in order to split your sound into two stereo channels. So basically you have a loud PA that either does mono sound through main and monitor channels together or stereo using main and monitor channels for your right or left channels. Further proof of this can be found on the mixing section where you will notice it has no panning knobs only main and monitor levels. It should have independent left and right channels for both main and monitor! Other than this fault the unit has served my band well with plenty of power for the price.
