Regardless of the number of pedals you use, a quality pedalboard is a must and the PT-2 is exactly that. It has a rock solid aluminum frame and comes with plenty of velco. The velcro is strong enough to hold your pedals on the board while carrying the pedalboard vertically. It's footprint is large enough to hold a wah, a couple of the larger line 6 pedals and anything else in your chain. Additionally, it comes with a mounting bracket that will accomodate most power supplies. The pedalboard's wiring is hidden beneath the frame and tied down with plastic wire ties (supplied). For the price of an average pedal, the PT-2 needs to be mandatory purchase for anyone who uses effect pedals.

This product is great. It's light-weight, is built at a good angle to access pedals, and really helps with organization. But so much about it was frustrating. It advertises being built for the Voodoo Lab power supply, but as other reviewers noted, it does not come pre-drilled. As one who doesn't use power tools often, it was more risk than I wanted to take to install the battery. One mistake and you could ruin your product right off the bat. Also, the plastic wrapping the board came in was ripped when I first opened it. A pull tab was missing from a zipper, and one of the screws was defective. The head wasn't drilled properly so it was essentially smooth, meaning a screwdriver couldn't drill it in. Another screw broke in half while I screwed it into the board. Users also aren't told what drill bit size to use. I used 1/8th" and it was still a bit too small, you'll have to widen the hole slightly more. The $120 price tag seems a bit steep for a hunk of metal and a gig bag case. The battery will run you another $100+. For that price, I would expect a high quality product, and so much about it seemed cheap.

Solid but wishing it came pre-drilled for the Voodoo Lab pedal power 2

By Matt C

from New York City, New York

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

This board is great. It is solidly built but still fairly light. My only complaint is that this board openly markets itself as a board that allows you to put the Voodoo Lab pedal power under the board (major space saver and even provides the brackets to due so. Even though holes are provided for for the VL power cords to exit out of the rear of the board you will have to drill your own holes to attach the pedal power to the bottom of the board. If you make any slight mistake (which I did) in drilling it becomes very difficult to attach it on the bottom. Why the holes aren't pre-drilled by Pedaltrain is beyond me. Other than that it is a great board. Just buy your duallock tape and have fun.

Great!!! but,

By nick dicicco

from New Hampshire

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

The board is awesome! i have built my own peal boards but i had never really bought one. this board met my expectations and then some. the board easily fits all 6 of my Boss pedals, my line 6 g30 wireless system, and a Crybaby Wah with room to expand in the future. There is one thing that i noticed right when i opened the case up. the bars on which you can put Velcro for your pedals where not strait. Otherwise the board is great. I do wish that the bars going across the board where a little thinner, but that's just me.

Finally a pedal board I am comfortable using!

By Mark

from Stanley, NY

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I looked at a bunch of pedal boards, have owned several and finally decided on this board... Although it is pricey for what it is, it is a great design! I have built my own boards and the best I had was an old counter top I cut and beveled, the angle put all my pedals at the right angle for easy access to all the pedals with my big wide foot. But chipboard isn't very durable, and it was heavy! So after looking I bought the Pedaltrain... Lots of room, little clutter, light weight and I don't accidentally turn on the wrong pedal! I now pull it out of the bag and lay it down , plug it in and go! Set up was easy and it looks neat and tidy and holds everything I use. Unless you like to impress with huge awkward boards and different loops this is a great item! The only drawback is the mounting for the power supply! You need to be creative if you don't buy the one they recommend and show in their setup/install videos. I had personally decided on a different one and had to be a little creative.

Nothing better than the Pedaltain PT2

By bryan jonathan

from gresham oregon

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I have tried several. This is the one. This is the best pedal board I have used at any price. I have access to a metal fabrication shop and if I were going to build one from scratch it would end up just like this one. BTW: building one like this would cost a bunch I am told, far more that it sells for. I got the softcase which offers all the protection I need. Big sturdy zippers and the bag is much lighter than the case. I also mounted my Voodoo Labs power supply and the brackets and installation was incredibly easy. I kept putting it off but when I sat down and did it it was so easy for me and works very, very well. I had actually sat down and designed a pedal board to have built and when I saw this and got it I was very pleasantly surprised. This is the one. If I need more space I would just purchase another PS2

2 Thumbs UP !

By agustin garcia

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

Very well thought out/designed product. I love the fact they include the mounting hardware for a Voodoo Labs PSU underneath the pedal board. Tons of options to rout both power & audio separately underneath the pedalboard in a neat, convenient & safe for transport method. The carrying case is really nice as well not a cheap "dollar store" item. Now I just have to stock another 3 -4 pedals !!! :) GG

Solid board Missing parts

By Andrew Pompei

from Roselle Park, NJ

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

This is a solid pedal board. Great construction in a generic board. The only reason I did not give it five stars is the velcro for mounting came as two of the same sides. I had to go purchase my own. They would have sent a replacement if I had time to wait.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

Nice product comes assembled unless you have the Voodoo Lab power set-up. But easy installation, drill some holes and mount. very nice gig bag. Comes with a ton of velcro which you cut and layout.

Good pedal board, but....

By Jerry Kretchmer

from Mishawaka, IN

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I bought this pedal board and the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 since the power supply can be mounted to the board. There is one slight problem with this; the sag controls are no longer accessible when mounted, and this makes adjustments very inconvenient. It may be unfair to fault this board with this flaw, but the two are marketed to be compatible with eachother, and that was the major decision factor for me. Holes are already drilled, so there goes any chance of a full refund, so now I'm stuck with it. If you're not interested in accessing the power supply, then this is a great board. Otherwise, you may want to go another route.

Perfect for the Job

By Larry

from Ellicott City, MD

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

A few weeks ago, I found myself in a panic. I'm in the middle of a song, I hear static coming out of the amp, and then nothing? The song ends, and I grab my standby amp. I plug in the standby, and everything appears to be working, or so I had thought. After a few minutes once again, my sound fails decays and is gone. This can't be happening. 2 amps? Well it was not an amp issue, but rather, the connections between pedals. In fact, a couple of connectors were loose. I had a smaller pedal board which worked, but it was not powered nor did it have the slats that I could tied down the pedals and the power cables to reduce movement. The Pedaltrain PT-2 and Voodoo Power 2 + allowed me to reduce the connecting and disconnecting of pedals. All the power is contained under the board. It reduces the total number of power adapters needed. So, purchase has improved reliability of my "rig." It has simplified setup and the carrying bag enables me to reduce the amount of items to carry to practice. All in all, I am very satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend.

Good pedal board (with a but)

By DA

from San Francisco, CA

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

Clever design, light weight, robust and good-looking. I am able to comfortably fit eight pedals, some of which are fairly large. The setup was easy, BUT you have to drill four holes yourself if you want to mount a pedal power unit underneath. Mounting brackets and screws are already included, so why would the board not come pre-drilled? This would be more customer friendly for warranty and returns too.

I like the PedalTrain PT-2 more than I though I would

By Scott Beattie

from Vernon, CT

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

When I decided to get a pedalboard, I debated about getting the PedalTrain because of the look of the rails versus a traditional flat board. It seemed like it might not be very flexible in terms of pedal placement. After doing some research and finding that quite a few pros use the PedalTrains, I decided to go for the PT-2. I didn't want a huge board, so the PT-2 was a good size for me to get. I am very pleased with the quality of the board and the soft bag it came with. It was easy enough to stick the fuzzy velcro to the rails and then attach the hook velcro to the bottom of my pedals. Note: I wish Boss pedals, and some others, came without the rubber base installed. Most other pedal makers seem to get it and don't have anything on the base when you buy the pedal. Makes it much easier to just put the velcro on right out of the box. Having installed quite a few pedals to my new PedalTrain board, I have to say that I really like the rails vs the flat board. It makes it much more flexible for the cables and the power wiring. I have been able to run most of the cables and the power cords under the rails so that they are somewhat out of site. It is definitely a cleaner look than some boards I have seen. I also like the angle of the board itself. It's ideal for being able to reach the pedals on the upper part of the board. I highly recommend this board to anyone looking to create a decent sized board with pedals chained together. I would go for the larger size versions if you are looking to have a true-bypass looper installed to run all the pedals.

Awesome for the price but too small!!!

By Eric Rosario

from Chicagoland

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I love this board. It looks and feels like it could be ran over by a car and still be in immaculate condition. One thing I would like to see is that these boards would come with the velcro on it. Not that I'm lazy but it seems to be a pain cutting the exact length for each strip. I purchased this thinking it was a little bigger than it really was. To my surprise it wasn't, so I decided to sell this one to a friend and get the PT-3. Honestly, I think Pedaltrain should discontinue either the PT-1 or PT-2 since there is only a 2 inch difference between the two. Just seems redundant to me.

PT-2 Pedalboard

By Greg Bronson

from Phoenix, AZ

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I needed a pedal board to hold my 10 pedals, I was using a hard case pedal board but it was to big and weight to much... I got this with 15% off so it was a no brainer, for the money you can't go wrong... The case with the shoulder handel is a nice extra, the only thing I would say could be better is the zipper but as long as you take your time and zip it slow it should last... The front pocket is nice for putting in your cords and extras... With all my pedals on the board and extra cords in the front pocket it still weights about 15lbs ligther than my old case and I and other band members are not tripping over my board anymore... Nice...

Best upgrade by far

By Arnold Quezada

from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

This pedal board works great! Before, every show I played I will take about 3-5 minutes just to set up my 6 pedals plus my Line 6 wireless transmitter and look really messy on stage. Now, I unzip my bag (by the way, the bag protects my pedals really good), place my board on stage and plug up to my guitar amp. This only takes me less than a minute now! The velcro it comes with works great and the board is lightweight even with my pedals on it. One of the best upgrade by far. I have played shows back to back and could'nt be happier how easy to transport and set up my pedals is.

Nice to my Stompboxes

By LARRY ABBOTT

from Tulsa, OK

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

Never had a pedal board before and knew I needed one to organize my stuff. I was spending a lot of time unwinding cords, connecting boxes and redoing at each session. After getting my board I spent an hour set-up and testing my train and I was ready, cool. The board is light, easy to wire, and solid. I wanted to get my train consistent and movable. That was accomplished and what I did not expect was the protection for the stomp boxes. The soft case is really well made. I am not sure why I waited so long to buy this thing.

nice roomy pedal board

By Scott Hamilton

from Chicago. IL

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I started with the Pedal Train Jr, but realized soon after that I needed a little more room for my TC-Voice Liveplay GTX and Boss Looper after I added a DigiTech - RP255 to the board. Pedal board works great. The soft case works for me. But if you travel a lot on planes you would likely want the hard case.
