I bought this about 4 months ago and it was def worth the $. The case this comes in is real nice and sturdy. It will get scratched up if u travel alot but as long as you take care of your stuff it should last you several years. The board itself is very big and easy to set up it comes with velcro and everything you need but the power adapter. I purchased the onespot 9v power adapter and it works great. I plan on getting another one of these very soon.

If you are planning on getting this because it's cheaper than the PT-2-HC with a hard case, look at the cases. The case for this one is garbage. The hinges fall apart, the latches fail, and the case sags with a loaded board. Buyer beware, shell out the extra cash to get a real ATA case.

Exchanged for PT-2- much better case

By Anthony Tarasiuk

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-1-HC Pedalboard with Hardshell Case:

The board itself is great but spend the extra money and buy one of the PedalTrain "ATA" hardshell cases unless your board is never leaving your home. I'm a bass player so pedal boards are an afterthought so I had done no research other than to know that almost every guitar player that uses a board uses PedalTrain. So, I had GC throw in the only hardshell case PedalTrain that they had in stock when I was buying other stuff. I got home and found that all hardshell PedalTrain cases aren't created equally. PT1 case is very flimsy and just waiting to fall apart so I returned it and waited a week to get the PT2. Awesome case. Incidentally, ATA stands for "Air Transport Association."

poor manufacturing

By David Brown

from Port Washington, Wisconsin

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-1-HC Pedalboard with Hardshell Case:

First the good: Nice design, simple and effective. Really like the ability to tuck my Pedal Power II under the board. Lots of space for pedals. Now the not so good: Everyone knows about the flimsy case, 'nuff said. I've been a metal fabricator as long or longer than I have been a muscian. Granted, this a China manufactured product, but the quality is poor. Absoulute minimum amount of Mig welds(should be Tig welded) that would not pass certification, and would definitley not get out the door at my business. The metal finishing is even worse. Looks like someone who picked up a grinder for the first time worked on mine! Lastly, the finish should be powder-coated, this finish does not look like it will last. On Monday, I'm taking mine to work to add some Tig welds and try to clean up the horrible metal finishing. Then sand blast the finish off and powder coat it with some other color than black.

Awesome, but...

By Jacob Johnson

from Bethany, Oklahoma

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-1-HC Pedalboard with Hardshell Case:

This is a great pedal board! And with the Voodoo Lab PP-2 it is amazing! But, I have had this pedal board for close to 3 years and the case that it comes with is falling apart on me. Nothing wrong with the board itself. But personally, I regret not getting the ATA flight case every time I open up my case... If you want something reliable, spend the extra money and get the flight case and not this thing.

A great value

By sevynn3970

from OKC, OK

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-1-HC Pedalboard with Hardshell Case:

Having recently switched from a rack fx unit to analog pedals, I needed something to both organize my pedals and provide a means to haul them around. The PT1 w/ hardshell case fits the bill. No, the case isn't an ATA certified case but gets the job done and is sturdy to protect your pedals as long as you aren't throwing out of the back of your moving vehicle, you should be fine. The pedalbaord itself is top notch and will last for years to come. I will eventually be using the included brackets to mount a powersupply under the pedalboard.

Case is too short

By Maurice Travelstead

from Murrieta, CA

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-1-HC Pedalboard with Hardshell Case:

The case is too short to hold average size pedal like BOSS on the upper tier. The case lid presses too hard on the pedals and controls. Don't get this unit if you don't need the case.

the best

By culver van vleck

from washington dc

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-1-HC Pedalboard with Hardshell Case:

to start of this pedalboard is very sturdy, so is the case, there is room for all the pedals you would need, it comes with enough velcro to rearrange the board about 4 times and its very organized so you can put your power supply and extra cable length underneath so you dont end up with that frustrating mess of cables. the velcro is very strong, i can hold this pedalboard upside down and shake it and only my heavy pedals will fall off. i have a digitech whammy pedal, a boss ME 20 multi-effect pedal, a way huge fat sandwich harmonic sachurator and a boss acoustic simulator and i cant fit them on with enough room for two small pedals. I didnt even need to get a $100 power supply, i just velcroed a $15 power strip onto the bottom of the board, plugged some wall adapters into my pedals.

Amazing board!

By Steve

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-1-HC Pedalboard with Hardshell Case:

This is a seriously great board! Very sturdy, lightweight, and great velcro. Plus, the case is pretty sturdy, and the foam inside the lid holds your pedals in place. Worth every penny I paid for it.

Not the "best" choice

By Mario

from CA

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-1-HC Pedalboard with Hardshell Case:

the board is Great, pedaltrain has one of the best board designs out there. The cables stay nice and neat and it looks great on stage. But if you're a touring musician, the hard case is terrible, flimsy, and the latches unlatch way too easily. I've taken it on one flight and it wont survive a secong. Go with a different sized pedaltrain. The PT -JR, PT2 and PT PRO are the ones to get. The flight cases are reliable and sturdy. The butterfly latches wont unlatch in Flight like the latches on the PT-1 did to me.
