Comments about Peavey Sanpera I Foot Controller:

I purchased the Peavy Sanpera 1 to use it on stage with my Peavy VYPYR VIP 2. The amp is really fantastic, Just what I needed, but regarding the Sanpera footswitch I have to say that I'm very dissapointed. Actually, I'm considering return it.
At least for me, the pedal is not user friendly at all, specially about the BANK SELECT MODE. PRESET MODE is the only one that is easy to use, but when you try to access the BANK MODE then, is when you will have your first frustrating trouble.
In fact, I've been trying to figure it out for a week and still have not found the way to use and switch BANKS. I just can't!!!.
One has to press buttons 1-2 simulteneously and that's the first risk specially if you are on stage and you can't afford the luxury of making a mistake when you need an acoustic guitar sound instead of an electric guitar one.
On the positive side, the pedal on the other hand is strong and sturdy. Built to last.
I am really sorry that I have to return it and not to be able to use it.
Again maybe it is just me, but in my opinion it is too complicated.
In my opinion, a foot switch should be easier to use.

Sanpera 1 for VIP 2

By Stephen

from Carrollton TX

Comments about Peavey Sanpera I Foot Controller:

I have the Sanpera 1 and use it with my Peavey Vypr VIP 2 Combo amp and I have to say it adds allot of functionality to the AMP. Switching through the different presets is much better than trying to finger fumble it all out while you are playing through a song, huge plus, no doubt. Its very sturdy. I kinda wish the foot buttons were a little softer and easier to depress but I am assuming they are built to last and are more like old school foot pedals like I used to see long ago when I was a kid. Upon first plug in it in I noticed that the VOLUME and AUX would not switch when pressing down on the wah pedal. Removed back plate and adjusted screw and it was all good. To bad they cant do that at the factory because if they had this woulda gotten a 5 star rating from me. As far as the other comment I heard about the lead getting buried in the looper, all I do is use the VOLUME on the foot pedal to turn the recorded loop down just a bit, record my loop, start the loop after recording and then crank the pedal volume up. Lead sounds strong and great. The wah pedal is a blast, I have never had one of my own in the past but always wanted one. I have to say that this is worth the money if you have the amp to go with it. I havehad mine for about a month. Get it, you won't regret it. Thank you GC.

Peavey Sanpera I Foot Control

By dennis

from Shallowater, Tx

Comments about Peavey Sanpera I Foot Controller:

I received my Peavey Sanpera I Foot Control about a week ago. I really enjoy the convenience of the foot switches changing from my programed sections on my Peavey Vypur 30 amp. I haven't had a chance to try out the foot pedel yet. So far it does everything what I thought it would do.

More than just a pedal

By John Franco

from The Land of Bigfoot and Rain

Comments about Peavey Sanpera I Foot Controller:

The ability to switch between presets using the Sanpera I is whole lot easier than pressing the little buttons found on the amp...well, duh. Seriously, the Sanpera I is a must if you have any of the Vypyr series simply because the ability to switch presets is now at your feet. I had the Sanpera I since GC's Black Friday deals and it took a couple of hours to get used to what the switches do, how to move around the banks, and how to set up and play using the Looper. Once that was done, the Sanpera I has been a dream. This thing is built to last...so far, I had dropped it, had my dog run into it, and had my wife kick at it. This was because I had left the amp on and was getting feedback, thought by kicking it that it would turn off. It's scuffed but that's cool. I'm glad that Peavey built this pedal as black instead of silver, matches the amp better. Other than color, there is no difference between the two. That's the good, now the bad... From other reviews, two of the biggest dings for the Sanpera I has been a) to go from main to aux using the pedal one has to press down hard and b) the playpack using the looper is too loud. With this pedal, one of the two problems has been fixed. First off, switching between main and aux is relatively easy. You do not need to modify the pedal i.e., to remove the backing and adjust the screw. I was able to switch between main and aux with ease...simply press down. The playback from the looper hasn't been fixed. I laid down and recorded some power chords using the Sanpera. When I played it back, the leads were so buried you really couldn't hear it. I was told that I would need to download the latest Vypyr software. Problem is, with the 30-watt amp you'll need to buy a USB-midi cord. Should you get the Sanpera I or II? I got the Sanpera I simply because I don't have the need to have over 12 presets nor have the desire to have a separate volume and expression pedal. For guys and girls who simply play it straight, get the Sanpera I...for others who like to push the boundaries get the Sanpera II.
