Having played for 20 years I can say that this guitar is not only a GREAT value, it's the best playing guitar I have ever owned, only second to a Peavey Wolfgang Custom that owned a few years ago. I shopped around a lot before making this purchase and I went to quite a few guitar shops trying different makes in the 200 to 300 range. I bought this one at Daddy's Music in Burlington, MA and I had been playing it for the past two weeks as I would go there on my lunch hour from work. It was very much like Wayne's World when I went in there on Friday and the guy at the counter said.."Let me guess, you need a thin pick and a patch cord for that red Peavey over there!" After having gone to two other stores that day, I decided that this guitar was going to be it, the action was unbelievable and the sound was just as surprising! What really suprised me was a call I got from Peavey today...When I bought the guitar it didn't come with a "whammy" bar. It has a Floyd so I was surprised when the guy told me that it didn't come with one in the box, he said that Peavey does that sometimes... Well, when I was registering the guitar online with Peavey they offered a suggestion box, so I offered up my feelings of dissappointment about the guitar not coming with a "whammy" bar. Citing what the guy told me..."Looks like you got a Friday guitar" to insinuate that guitars made by Peavey at the end of the week are not up to the standards of those made earlier in the week. Well, I got a call from Peavey today apologizing for the comments made by the guy at the guitar shop and they assured me that they have the highest standards of quality. That was followed with the guy telling me that a new whammy bar is in the mail on its way to my house. He said that he worked for Gibson for 9 years and he said that Peavey is far and away better than any other company out there when it comes to service and quality... I believe it!!! They now have a life-long advocate of their products and service!

Amazed me..!!!

Comments about Peavey Predator Plus EXP Guitar:

I have been playing for 40 yrs. I was playing a party in Tampa when a Drunk fell over my guitar stand and trashed my guitar. A friend owns a music store; I called and met him at the store. He hands me a loner, A Peavey Predator, no set up nothing, just tune and go. After the gig I payed him for the guitar. It is one of the cheapest guitars I ever bought. It has smokin action, super slinkys and a soft light touch. Floyd Rose for less than 3 C. Notes that is always nice. It screams I run it through my 1980's Digitec RP1. For some one who is low on the cash flow this will give you a lot of bang for your buck.

For the money you'll love it

Comments about Peavey Predator Plus EXP Guitar:

I have been playing guitar for alot of years and have own alot of different styles and brands. I picked up the guitar after some research because, I was walking thru the store just touching necks, cause to me thats the most important thing and brands dont mean anything to me and I came across this. I like thin soft necks, and this guitar is pretty smooth. I took it home and did a little tweaking, string height and floyd adjustment and I really like it. To me the strings sucked( I like the extra light), now the pick ups are next to go...dont get me wrong there not bad, just are missing the fullness that I like, but again I spent 200 bucks ya know? The highs are great and clean but the mid to lows arent to my liking. If you want a nice playing guitar with a little work then this is for you, And if your just starting out, then this is defintely for you cause of the price and also its a nicely sound constructed instrument...

Very Disappointed

Comments about Peavey Predator Plus EXP Guitar:

I've Been Playing Peavey Guitars For Over 1 Year Now And They Are My #1. Choice In Guitars!!! I've Been Impressed By Peavey Guitars Such As The EVH Wolfgang, EVH Wofgang Special, Predator USA, Predator Plus ST-7, Generation EXP ACM Custom, HP Special CT And The HP Signature, But I Wasn't Impressed By This Guitar!!! I Picked Up This Guitar About 1 Week Ago For $199.99 And It Was A Huge Let Down!!! The Pickups Are Very Weak, The Liscensed Floyd Rose Is Horrible And The Feel Of The Neck Is Awful!!! I Thought The Raptors Were The Only Bad Peavey Guitars, But I Was Wrong!!! Take This From A Peavey Player, Avoid This Guitar!!!

Who would have thought.....

Comments about Peavey Predator Plus EXP Guitar:

I bought this guitar as a temp guitar to play while I totally rebuilt my Fender Strat. It was only a couple hundred bucks so I picked it up. It wasn't meant to stay in my collection, just a temp guitar. Well, I was pretty amazed how well this instrument produced sounds that I desired with such ease. I think Peavey makes a great American made guitar the seems to be overlooked too often. I am goung to go out on a limb and say that this guitar plays better than my Strat, because it does. However, I have quite a bit of money tied up in my Strat's electronics so the sound of the Strat is much better. The Peavey in stock form, SET UP CORRECTLY, is worth twice what they are asking in my own personal opinion.

Comments about Peavey Predator Plus EXP Guitar:

The moment i unveiled the guitar on my bed from its box, i fell IN LOVE. I needed a guitar for hardcore whammy, and with the floyd rose licensed, not original, filled the need. I love it. Its actually in my arms right now, haha. The thing is that the stock pickups are very nice! Its a nice rock hard bridge pickup and a solid and heavy neck pickup. It has a great tremelo and locking tuners. Its nice, and i just messed it uppp, and nothing went out of tune! and im talking MESSED IT UPP. whammied for 5 minutes straight. The neck is fast and the bolt on carve had my hand fit perfectly for the 22 fret! Fantastic guitar for the price!

DANG!!!!

Comments about Peavey Predator Plus EXP Guitar:

I ordered this guitar mostly for the Floyd Rose, but also so I could play heavier music, because my Epiphone LP (which I still love dearly) didn't quite get the job done. I figured that this guitar would require a bit of work because it only cost me $220. I was completely astounded at the amazing quality of this instrument. I ordered the Candy Apple Red guitar, and the color is WAY better in person than on the picture. It a very dark deep red with a bit of metallic-ness to it. The headstock is black, not maple colored.(Which is much better) The Floyd Rose is absolutely flawless once it's set up right and your strings are stretched. The pickups are not that bad, either, although I'm probably going to put a DiMarzio Evo in the Bridge position later on. Overall it's the best $220 guitar you will ever see or use.
