Our rock band was looking for small but punchy and clear speakers to use at our gigs. These PV215 speakers have fit the bill and then some. If you want bass you can walk on add a couple of subs. But these puppys have plenty of low end alone. Addionally, the 700W power handling ensures we won't blow them out. I have always been pleased with Peavey's quality for price, and it appears they've done it again. And if you want to talk about durability. These speakers fit in our car, no more needing 3 trucks for all the band equipment.

We use them as tops in a classic rock band and they sound pretty good but not great. If this isn't what you can afford, buy them. One warning - they have fuses and they do blow - easily. The good thing is they seem to protect the horn, the bad thing is the fuses can't be found and must be ordered from Peavey for $3.5 each - there are two in each cabinet. Automotive light bulbs from auto store can be used in a pinch but they are lower watt and blow faster. Kind of a pain.

Comments about Peavey PV 215 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

These are great speakers. I bought a pair of these about 5 years ago and have used them as mains for 3 or 4 different bands I've been in. I play primarily in classic and alternative rock bands and we play it loud. The quality of the sound is great even at high volumes. I pair these with a set of PV118 subs and four PV112M monitors for my current band. We use them both indoors and outside with no problems. They're big and heavy, but they sound great and the hold up over time. For the money, I just don't think you can find a better deal.

Comments about Peavey PV 215 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I've always liked Peavey gear and these speakers I just bought are Peavey quality and value represented. Hey, I know these are not 1,000 watt speakers and I use them properly. The result is a good, clean sound with crisp highs and mids and bass reproduction good enough for indoor events. As everyone has said, if you need more bass, get some subs. My system is set up that way so the Peavey 215s handle voices, guitars, pianos, high drums/cymbals and horns, the PV118 subs handle kick, floor and mounted toms and bass guitar all separated by the drive rack p.a.+ active crossover. I know these are made in China but really, what isn't? The specs and performance are there for these speakers. I'd buy them again. I've run sound for my bands and others for over 35 years. I know good gear.

Comments about Peavey PV 215 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

Back to Basics, Let's face facts!
After playing in bands for almost 50 years and Boston area drum and bugle corps as a child. I have been a drummer almost since birth. That being said. As I start playing in bands many years ago a guitar player bought a Peavey amp for his guitar. Then I buy a Peavey Board and PA system. As time goes on I share the stage with many players and or acts you probably bought albums of.And Peavey amps were always reliable and always THERE ! Now in the last 10 years I am back to regular size venues. When for myself instead of hiring a major sound company, I bought every type of PA from JVC, to Yamaha to 4 Bose Poles with boxes. We hit the stage of a fair size show of about 2,5000 people and I gotta tell ya 4 Bose poles were the biggest mistake of my career.. When finally I said, screw it all, I sold them all at a loss and went back to Basics. Peavey,Peavey and Peavey.. So in short my entire house and floor monitors and board are all Peavey...Because no matter what they seem to go through they always get the job done, and if there ever is a problem, it's 9 times out of 10 very fixable or minimal. So now that I'm back to playing the clubs and smaller venues. I'm taking PEAVEY with me WHEREVER I GO...Tough ! Rugged and Reliable! So it's GO BACK TO START...GO PEAVEY...Or go HOME!! JoJo Johns~ Bandleader and drummer for Armed & Dangerous, Voyeur and The Nelson Beck Group, Hero's, and an opening act or filler for a cast of thousands....Peavey Gets the job DONE! BAR NONE! J2.....

Great sounding cabs

Comments about Peavey PV 215 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

I tried them live last night for the first time and was very pleased. They are great sounding cabs for my Hammond XK3, and I like the sturdy way they are built and of course the great price. The XK3 is played quite often in the middle octave and with lesser cabs these frequencies can get a lost in a live situation so you need to push out more power than the guitarists who sounds easily project. I am only pushing 500w ( not the full 700 W ) into each side and they are loud with no distortion at all. But buy yourself some sack trucks to haul them around as they might break your back.

All you need to do to make these speakers worth there wait in gold is to replace the 2 way active crossover with a three way active crossover. Very simple easy install , you just need a soldering kit and you can pick up a crossover at sweetwater.com I'm audio engineer and what a bargain.

Comments about Peavey PV 215 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

We are a 5 piece cover band and were looking to upgrade our entire sound system (from Phonic 740 with Phonic 15" mains) so we paired two of these with a Peavey powered mixer and couldn't be happier. We were lacking the power we needed for outdoor gigs and were even maxing out the sound with our existing setup indoors. We debated on a box with a single 15" for portability reasons, but we are glad we went with the bigger box with 2 15"s. Plenty of power and great, clear sound. Our regular crowd said it was the best we've ever sounded.

Great speaker

By andrew jones

from glastonbury, CT

Comments about Peavey PV 215 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

anyone who complains that they dont have a speakon input didnt read the specs it doesnt list speakon anywhere also this speaker is sturdy, durable, and a great deal these arent as nice as JBL SRX722 but they sound waay better than 1/5 as good these are a great deal not stellar, nothing to go crazy over, but the price is fantastic for the sound they put out I have this paired with a QSC GX5 (the seven was too much money for me) and it sounds great side note: these have very good bass, but are designed to be paired with a subwoofer they do not need one and sound more than fine without, but keep that in mind all in all: these arent the top of the line speakers, but are a great way to get started and a great deal for the quality of speaker and sound you get here

WOW

By andrew jones

Comments about Peavey PV 215 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

these speakers BUMP! I have them paired with a QSC gx5 power amp. and they do everything i ask of them they pump out high volume sound with good sound. these ARE NOT a subwoofer and do not do the job of a subwoofer, but they still provide very good low end sound. i have no complaints about them other than i wish i bought two of them at once. granted: they do not have a speakon input in the back, but with any decent power amp, you will be able to choose what cable you want for the output I love these speakers and they are a fantastic deal theyre sturdy, light, good lows, crisp highs and fine mids too one tiney complaint: the highs can be a little overpowering sometimes compared to the lows, but i think if i paired them with a powered sub the issue would go away (it also might be the input im using) all in all: excellent product peavey!!! keep up the quality!!!

Good PA Cabinet

By Phyllis Rooks

from Undisclosed

Comments about Peavey PV 215 Dual 15" 2-Way Speaker Cabinet:

You can't beat this price, this cab is HUGE, big sound, high quality plus it will fit any look and make you give off that professional musician feel. I've had it for a few months now and haven't had a single problem and I bought mine used if that says anything for its durability.
Definitely a high quality sound at such a loud volume, if you need a PA Cabinet for a show, or just a band practice I'd recommend buying this one.
