I just got this bass not too long ago and I was impressed. The body is awesome and sleek, the weight is light, and the tone is incredible. The low B is a must have for any doing metal, or even blues. I intend to make this bass last me a long time. Anyone thinking of stepping up to 5-string should consider the Peavey line.

The sound is too punchy for me. Also the pick-ups are very sensitive, not necessarily a bad thing but your fingers are easily heard sliding up and down the neck. One complaint I have against Peavey is they just threw mine together. It seemed like they made it as fast as possible and didn't bother checking any of the settings.

Outstanding Bass !

By Doug Ellison

from Decatur, IL

I have the Tiger-eye Peavey BXP-5 AC for several years and could not be happier with it. It looks fantastic under stage lights and sounds remarkable. Same pickups and electronics as on the high end Cirrus line. ust a thousnd dollars less. Probably the most quiet signal to the amp of any bass out there. Only just a tiny bit of hiss with the high tone dial set wide open. == Just remember to unplug your cord from the instrument jack = on the Bass = when not using it. == Not just from the amp.== The Active electronics will still eat up the 9 volt batteries if you don't. Great set up, great strings, outstanding appearance, excellent workmanship on fit and finish. Excellent value for the money. ENJOY ! I know I do!

Great Bass

By John Sanders

from Little Falls, Mn

This is a great bass. I only have one problem with it. I've had mine for about 3 months and now the sound distributer on it went out. I'm going to have to take it in and get fixed. Other than for that the bass is great. I originally played a 4 string I was worried about switching to a 5 string, but now I won't go back to a four string. I picked one up the other day and it just felt weird. The nice thing about the fifth string is how low it is. I went into the shop and when I played that fifth string that whole store just shook. This bass is great for the price. I love it to death and I can't wait to get it fixed and start playing again.

Great Bass

By Josh

I have had this bass for quite a long time now and I have never been disappointed. Most people think that I paid waaay more for this thing than I did just because it looks so sexy(I have the Black Violet) and sounds great. I use this bass for an extremely wide variety of musical styles from worship to metal. Its extremely full sound can handle about any style of music. If you are looking for a mid-range priced 5 string with a well rounded sound and quality build....just do it. You wont regret it. And did I mention how good looking it is?

Amazing for the price!

By Austin M.

from Kaukauna, WI

I bought this bass a few months ago and it still blows me away now as it did when i bought it. The active pickups give this bass a monsterous punch with a thundering low B and a crystal clear mid and high range, It is perfect for anyone doing rock or metal. A few bits of advice it looks much better in person, and you will want to get a nice set of strings it really completes the sound.

Great working mans bass

By Brett

from Florida

I am by trade a guitar player but because of a huge void in my city of bass players I have become a very active bass player. I had been using my homemade passive four string for years when I joined a new band and they wanted me to pick up a 5 string. I went to the store not wanting to spend alot and found this gem. the action is perfect on mine the pickups are very powerful but still capable of doing whatever genre we happen to be playing that night. I would recomend it for anyone switching from a 4 to a 5 string.

Wow!

By Walt

from Madison Wisconsin

I compared this to the Higher end 5 stings and was pleasantly surprised buy its overall performance. Active electronics make for superior tonal quality. This instrument was on the rack and already setup. Nice light touch action on the neck. Not a single fret buzz anywhere. Instrument is light weight and balanced nicely. Alot of bang for your buck here! This is a nice affordable bass with high end quality and performance!
