I just got this bass not too long ago and I was impressed. The body is awesome and sleek, the weight is light, and the tone is incredible. The low B is a must have for any doing metal, or even blues. I intend to make this bass last me a long time. Anyone thinking of stepping up to 5-string should consider the Peavey line.

The sound is too punchy for me. Also the pick-ups are very sensitive, not necessarily a bad thing but your fingers are easily heard sliding up and down the neck. One complaint I have against Peavey is they just threw mine together. It seemed like they made it as fast as possible and didn't bother checking any of the settings.

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

So, I've owned this bass for about 6 or 7 years now. I own the 4 and 5 string versions of this bass. Only the 5 string was purchased from Guitar Center. The 5 string's electronics buzz like crazy. I can't touch the knobs or else it crackles, I guess it wasn't grounded from the factory. The 4 strings' electronics are fine. I had fret buzz present on both basses. When it was purchased I didn't receive the owners manual or a truss rod tool, I don't know if these were supposed to be included, but I would think some sort of manual at least would make sense. When I had to adjust the truss rod because the instrument was poorly set up I didn't know what size Allen wrench I needed or even which direction to turn it. This was my first bass and I felt taken advantage of by the Guitar Center employee who 'helped' me. After a month of ownership all the problems became apparent. This is such a difficult bass to own. If you're experienced and know exactly what you want and/or like this bass might be great, but it was a nightmare to learn on. And the pickups just pick up every little touch, not to mention I wasn't told they were active pickups so when the batteries died that was a fun week of thinking my bass was broken. Overall I was unhappy with both the bass and the customer service from Guitar Center. The one thing I legitimately like about this bass is the neck, it seems to be of much higher quality than the rest of the instrument. Thin and smooth and silky. TL;DR- only buy this bass if you're an experienced player and know what you're looking for, and definitely don't buy it from Guitar Center.

This is my first bass, but I do play guitar and am used to listening to other bass players in the band. I've only had this bass a few weeks, have it set up with a Carvin amp and I love the tone! Very clear, deep, no buzz, holds it's tuning very well too. Wasn't sure how it was going to feel going from guitar to bass, but it is very comfortable to play… And it's looks are a bonus, gorgeous woodgrain pattern!

        Outstanding Bass !

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

I have the Tiger-eye Peavey BXP-5 AC for several years and could not be happier with it. It looks fantastic under stage lights and sounds remarkable. Same pickups and electronics as on the high end Cirrus line. ust a thousnd dollars less. Probably the most quiet signal to the amp of any bass out there. Only just a tiny bit of hiss with the high tone dial set wide open. == Just remember to unplug your cord from the instrument jack = on the Bass = when not using it. == Not just from the amp.== The Active electronics will still eat up the 9 volt batteries if you don't. Great set up, great strings, outstanding appearance, excellent workmanship on fit and finish. Excellent value for the money. ENJOY ! I know I do!

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

This is definitely a great bass, but not just for the price; not only because it's a cheaper five string, but it matches higher end five strings. The action on it is absolutely wonderful, and this makes it easy to play. The strings give off really good tone whether playing electrically or unplugged. Overall, it is just a really great bass and anyone would enjoy playing it.

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

The reason I rated this bass a 9 was due to the set up. It cost me $75.00 to get it professionally set up. Now it is a 10. I am very pleased with the features.
          Features were as advertised.
I bought it used, condition 1. I can't say anything negative about it except I feel like it should have been set up better at the factory. The action was real high and the neck had a bow in it. The finish is absolutely beautiful with no flaws,
I feel like it was well priced.

          Great Bass

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

This is a great bass. I only have one problem with it. I've had mine for about 3 months and now the sound distributer on it went out. I'm going to have to take it in and get fixed. Other than for that the bass is great. I originally played a 4 string I was worried about switching to a 5 string, but now I won't go back to a four string. I picked one up the other day and it just felt weird. The nice thing about the fifth string is how low it is. I went into the shop and when I played that fifth string that whole store just shook. This bass is great for the price. I love it to death and I can't wait to get it fixed and start playing again.
