So I'm in the store looking at the amps for my new Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. I ask the rep to get me a cord so I could plug in. Even with all the others playing, this amp cut right under the guitar madness with its nice deep sound. I recommend the Vintage setting for best results. This blew the pricier Ampege away. Nice job Peavy.

amp sticker

By t g

from new york

this amp sounds great and has good tone. the only problem i had was the stupid sticker on the front that says the watts and all that junk. it would not peel off the front of the amp. i had to use paint thinner, a hobby knife, and my nails to peel it if. IT TOOK 3 HOURS. Dont try taking the sticker off. it is not worth the trouble!

Fantastic!

By Ryan Jett

from Durham, NC

I received this amp at Christmas (2011), and I've been playing it ever since. This amp has fantastic, deep tone. I love being able to use headphones at night to prevent enraging the wife! Also, the ability to fully adjust the gain is a huge plus. I no longer have any issues hearing my bass when playing with friends. They're all blown away at the sound this thing puts out. I highly recommend this amp. For the money, you really get a great product. You won't be disappointed.

Great amp for the $

By Josiah

from Houston, Tx

I've owned this amp for about 7 months now and it easily holds it's own in my band. I recently added an external bullet tweeter to the amp to get more sound out of the lower strings. Since then this amp exceed my expectations on it's capabilities.

Great First Gigging Amp

By Eddy G

from Starkville, MS

I'm somewhat new to playing bass, and I'm also a college student. As such, I don't have the experience or cash to justify buying a nice GK or Ampeg rig, like most of us would love to have, but I recently had an accident involving my little Squier practice amp, may it rest in peace, and I decided that I was ready for something capable of playing at least a small gig. So, I tried this one out in the store, and I was impressed with its volume and tone, given the price and power. Where it has really begun to shine, though, is at home, where I've had a chance to really play with it. The controls are very responsive, producing noticeable tonal variety with even a slight twist of any given knob. The modern, vintage, and max settings all produce distinctive tones that should handle a broad range of styles. I've tried blues, funk, classic rock, and alternative, so far, and have been able to find settings that are just about optimum for each of those styles. This thing makes my Mexican Fender PJ sound like a real professional's instrument. Curiously, it also seems to give less hum (almost none) than the Squier amp did, even with the single-coil J pickup at max volume. I've heard tell that Peavey amps are heavy, but this one doesn't seem too bad. Maybe it's a tiny bit overweight for its size, but I could carry it up the steps to my second-story apartment without any extreme difficulty. It would probably be drowned out by a full, professional-level band playing a large gig, but for someone like me, who is just starting out, and will probably be playing lots of one-room bar shows, or even for a real professional who wants to play smaller gigs, or is looking for an inexpensive practice or jamming amp that still has some punch, I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

lot of amp little price

By Brof

from Asheville, NC

Very pleased thus far. Use it for amplifiying URB for jazz gig. There are more specialized amps on the market but NOT in this price range. Plenty of volume for small to medium show. Havent used peavey since the 80's (hairbands yikes!!) seems like they've improved! only down side is definitely heavy 60 some odd lbs.

A good little amp!

By Werewolf67

from Palm Bay, FL

I was looking for an amp with great tone, period. I'm not too worried about playing larger crowds as with a good PA setup you can always mic it. This amp is the PERFECT FIT for what I'm doing. At 60 watts, it's surprisingly powerful, yet keeps a clean tone. Gotta love it!
