Technologically advanced and affordable guitar modeling amplifier.

With double the processing power, models and effects of competitive modeling amplifiers, the VYPYR dramatically redefines the power and scope of modern guitar amplification. VYPYR amplifiers are based on powerful 32-bit, floating-point SHARC processors that enable highly detailed, accurate modeling as well as vastly enhanced flexibility and features than ever before available in guitar amplification.

Featuring 24 amp channel models--both the clean and distorted channels of 12 popular amps for the first time anywhere--plus 11 editable preamp "stomp box" effects and 11 editable post-amp "rack" effects with dual-parameter control. Players can use up to five effects simultaneously. When used with the optional Peavey Sanpera foot controller, the possibilities further expand from 12 in-amp presets to 400 programmable presets, with an on-board looper and more. The VYPYR amp also acts as its own computer audio interface, with a built-in studio-quality USB 2.0 output on most models that is recognized by computers as an audio device. The entire six-model VYPYR Series features the easy-to-use Peavey WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) interface.

  • The Best Amp I've Owned

As reviewed by Adrien on 8/19/2009

This Is the perfect amp for ANY style of music. Whether you play Jazz, Blues, Alternative or Heavy Metal like me, you will love it. I was having trouble choosing between this and a tube amp, but this was well worth it. I will be honest, if you want the pedalboard and warranties with it, it is SO worth it. the tone is perfect, solid, sustained, There are so many amp models to choose from so you make your guitar sound like its playing a Marshall, Line 6, or any other brand. The best thing i found with this amp, is that you can make YOUR sound the way YOU want it. It has 3 different banks that each contain 4 different presets so you can choose your presets to be ANYTHING If you are looking for a good gigging amp, or just to jam around with, THIS IS THE AMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!OH and Get the sanpera 1 or sanpera 2 footswitch, I got the sanpera 1 and its good enough if all you want to do is switch between presets.

  • Very Satisfied

As reviewed by Rich on 9/20/2009

A good variety of sounds from this amp. It is loud as other reviews indicate. I was tired of carrying around a Marshall 100W head and 4x12 cabinet. This 75W is perfect! No longer do I have to 'crank' my old Marshall to get a good sound and sustain. This Peavy does it at any volume level! And it is silent when no signals going through the amp. I like the analog back end of the amp. I have the Sampera II foot pedal and the only issue is the adjustment to activate alternate modes of the volume and wah pedals. I had to take the bottom panel off and adjust the set screws for them to work (almost retuned it, but then got brave and fixed it myself). That has been the only quality issue so far. I bought the 3 year replacement warranty, so I am not worried about total failure, unless I am at a gig! I would buy this amp again! I find the fact that it 'goes to 13' very funny. Rock on Spinal Tap (yours only go to 11)!!

  • Vypyr 75

As reviewed by white les paul custom on 3/25/2010

In a nutshell, great realistic sounding amp models, tons of effects, easy to use interface. This amp is loud enough to blow your roof off! Definetly gig worthy. Cleans sound great, raunchy crunch sounds, and super high gain overdrive, and the distortion sounds realistic and organic. The power sponge allows the amp to sound like the power amp is breaking up at any volume. Waiting for the free pedal so i can control the looper. My only complaints are that its mainly open back and that the tuner is kind of touchy.
