  • You get what you pay for

    If you can? Spend a little bit more for a different cab! The cab arrived in new condition from GC. I plugged it in & was really disappointed. It had a very flabby bottom end response & dull tone. I decided I would pull the speaker & throw in another 12 a had. When I opened the back of the cabinet 2 of the 4 screws that were supposed to be holding the speaker in place to the face plate were lying in the cab> ???? The speaker wasn't even mounted. After mounting it the speaker the cab really doesn't sound bad. I have used blue marvel speakers in the past & have had OK results. very flat response. I have used Peavey Products for years & have alway had great luck with them! Usually built like tanks. In the search to be competitive the chinese build quality sucks!!

  • You get what you pay for

    Not really a major spend but let's face it...you get what you pay for. Sound is ok, more toward a dull low-end...but it is affected by what head you use, I used it with a Blackstar HT-5 with and stacked the Peavey Vypers. That gave it a little more bottom, but still leaning on the duller side. I plugged in an Egnator Rebel 20 and got a brighter response which is my style...Let's face it, the cabinet is worth the price alone and you get to knock around with a cool practice rig...not sure I would gig with it yet.

  • Cheap and Workable

    Needed a cab for my Peavy Standard and the 50 watt speaker wouldn't cut it. Went cheap, bought the cab and then a speaker that would handle the amp. Don't know what the Peavy speaker sounds like, but for the price just the enclosure was worth it. I got a single 12" cab rated to 150 watts, perfect for my 130 watt Peavy Standard.
