Technologically advanced and affordable guitar modeling amplifier.

With double the processing power, models and effects of competitive modeling amplifiers, the VYPYR amp dramatically redefines the power and scope of modern guitar amplification. VYPYR amplifiers are based on powerful 32-bit, floating-point SHARC processors that enable highly detailed, accurate modeling as well as vastly enhanced flexibility and features than ever before available in guitar amplification.

Featuring 24 amp channel models--both the clean and distorted channels of 12 popular amps for the first time anywhere--plus 11 editable preamp "stomp box" effects and 11 editable post-amp "rack" effects with dual-parameter control. Players can use up to five effects simultaneously. When used with the optional Peavey Sanpera foot controller, the possibilities further expand from 12 in-amp presets to 400 programmable presets, with an on-board looper and more. The VYPYR also acts as its own computer audio interface, with a built-in studio-quality USB 2.0 output on most models that is recognized by computers as an audio device. The entire six-model VYPYR Series features the easy-to-use Peavey WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) interface.

This amp is just insane. I originally had the 15W version and then I started playing in a band, so I needed more power and I moved up to this one. Getting this 100-Watt amp was one of the best choices Ive ever made. Tone: I tried this amp first in the guitar center stores and I thought the tone was good. Then I took it home and realized that its more than good: its amazing. For me, a player of metal, this tone reaches very good distorted and clean channels. If you get the chance to play this in a quiet area: try using the "K-Stein" dirty channel for good leads and the "6505" dirty channel for a good rhythm sound. For clean channels try using the "Twn" clean model. Ive been searching for a good punk rock sound, which I will find eventually, but the best thing Ive found so far is the dirty "Twn" channel. This amp is so customizable, though, that you can spend hours searching for tones. Aesthetics: Very clean-looking amp. A bit heavy, but what do you expect with a 100W combo? Looks the same as when I bought it, even though its been rammed into many things while taking it back and forth to jam sessions. Personal Experience: I have had no problems with this amp. I own an Ibanez RG2EX2 and an Ibanez RG5EX1. The first has a V7/V8 pickup setup and the other has The INF3 and 4 and the INFS3 inbetween. The V7/8 are very bass-y, but I can tweak the amp to make it sound just right. The INF3/4 are have a lot of highs and are very crisp, which is perfect for the amp. A side note: The record out is very good. No buzz at all. The only bad thing is that is a direct out so it is not influenced by the volume pot, so it is a bit quiet, but that can be made up for by using the "amplify" feature in Audacity. I assume other programs have similar features, but I cannot say for sure because I haven't tried them. Other than the heaviness, I have had absolutely no problems with the amp. Get it NOW.

I purchased this amp after trying several amps for about 6 months. Almost bought the line 6 which I liked but it wasn't even close when I tried this amp. Even beter the sound quality at hi volumes is awesome. I was shooting for somehting to rattel my neighbors cage, it didn't just rattel it it melted it.

I bought this amp around labor day 2010 and it is brute. I play in a death grind band so I upgraded to this from the 15w version and it is a true baby eater. I can get blues, death, jazz, classic rock, brit metal and anything else. It's really loud if you just play in your bedroom and it's good for realitively small gigs. however, some of the amp models (mainly kstien and jsx) have a hissing sound and especially with the boost or tubescreamer effects, but nothing a good noise reduction pedal wont fix. Overall amazing amp for the price, I highly recommend it, buy it.
