I love this cabinet, it is absolutely grim. This thing can produce everything from classical clean jazz, all the way to low f# tuned oldschool death. And it all sounds like it was specificly designged for what you are playing. Absolutely heavy bottom end, but you can dial it back. One of the best cabinets i have ever played through and my favorite cabinet that i have owned. I play it with a valveking 2x12 combo amp on top and it has a really super saturated tone, excellent crunch, warm as all get out for screaming hot blues, even chunky fat grinding meaty entombed style stuff can be played thru this, and it all sounds beautiful. Buy it.
Well, this Cab sounds just as good as the Mesa Boogie 4X12. I know my gear, and believe me, this sounds amazing. I paired this with a Peavey 6505+ Head (same as 5150II Head), and the tone was amazing. The bass was tight, yet still definitely there, and the mids cut through like a Butcher knife through butter. In short, this Cab allows lots of volume, and just the right amount of mids, lows, and highs. Get this tone fanatics!!!
When working on the Valve King series Peavey voiced this cabinet perfectly with the VK100 Head and is a great duo. The cab is sufficiant for all styles and can cut through any situation. Tones are full and clear. Even at high levels this cab will replicate every note with clarity. No Frills but gets the job done.
