AWESOME AMP!
This amp is totally amazing. I have owned it for about a moonth now and i have not had a problem yet.The tone is great. A great feature is a "boost" button, this is for the drive channel and gives you extra gain. There is also a button for the clean channel that makes the tone very bright and it sounds awesome.Overall this amp is extremely versatile and can play almost any genre of music. Get this amp! it is totaly amazing for the price that you pay.

Going for tone without going broke
Warning: My playing style is jazzified cross-over country-western with latin/Brazilian undertones and rhythms, but HEAVY on jazz sound. That being said, I had been looking for a moderate-wattage amp for about a month. As I was about to purchase the Randall's RG100G3--with that MOSFET technology--I plugged into a Peavey 212 100w Valveking. Stop the presses! To be sure I was sane, I went over to the ol' Fender combos and found that I had been presented with the amp I was searching for. If you're moving toward or currently playing jazz at larger venues, and you're searching for a decent amp without blowing your entire tax refund, you should give this amp serious consideration. I've owned it for two months now--wasn't going to halo-effect this amp by gushing the same day I bought it--and am so pleased. Imagine my surprise when the price tag was mis-marked to the tune of $75 cheaper. So, I could spend about a manhour's worth more money than the innovative Randall and get a fully-tubed (3 pre-amp, 4 power tubes), sweet-sounding Peavey.

Great Tone!
Wow! Traded in my Flextone 111 for the VK. The Flextone had a lot of features, but it couldn't come close to the sound of the VK. Add in the Digitech GNX4 and I can get way more sounds than with the Flextone, plus great tone from the amp by itself. Not to mention insanely loud. I play a Strat and a Les Paul, definitly like the tone with the Les Paul best, sweet rich sustain, really screams when cranked. The texture control adds some new cool sound, and the resonance control makes the low end punch. The clean channel sounds great, from funky to bright, shimmering highs. I would like a way to dirty up the clean channel a bit. Nice clean looking amp, simple and straight forward controls. Was considering other amps, but I think I've found what I'm looking for, a lot of amp for the money.

Headroom and Aggression
First off this amp has the power to do any small venue, overpowers a drummer if you dial it past 3. The Clean channel does not break up until you really push it. The lead channel is quite pointless without having the boost button on, but with it you'll have the perfect gain to do blues or punk. If you want some metal tones, you'll have to get a booster of some sort, the Rocktron Nitro works great, then it saturates and has one of the most Aggressive sounds imaginable. But the Effects loop has its issues, you can't daisy chain the power cord of pedals from the effects loop to a pedal that's in the line in, grounding issues maybe, and it has problems addressing volume in it too. But it's manageable. The only other con is that you're running 100 watts of tube power through 2 speakers, massive power for any speakers so an external cabinet is very important if you intend to really turn it up. The Valveking is a great amp for the money, and with the right adjustments it DOES sound like a Marshall cranked to 10 at only 3, so whether you get the head or the combo, you'll be satisfied.

Killer amp
I wanted to get a Mesa or something, but pretty out of my price range, so i decided to settle for this amp. Now, even if i had the money, i wouldnt trade up this amp for any other 2x12. First off, its loud. I run it at about 2 1/2 outta 10 and its the perfect level to match my drummer, and everyone in my small basement during rehearsals. I tried it at 3/10 and it was overpowering. Second, you can get some sick tones out of this. I crank my mids up, with the gain at about 7 and there can't be anything better for punk rock. I can scoop the mids, put the gain at 10 and it has a killer metal tone. Then i can back off on the gain and get an amazing blues tone. Another thing is the 'Presence' knob, which is almost like the tone knob on your guitar but without the hum, its a beautiful addition. The class a/ab control is nice too, cleaning up any muddiness. Only cons are that it's pretty noisy, giving me some mad feedback and hum, but thats partly my old pickups in my epiphone LP, and partly the small room. New pickups and a gate, I'm dead sure I wont have that problem.
For the price, this amp is unbeatable. The 5 year warranty got me smiling, and i'm pretty sure I wont need to use it either. If it were stolen, Id replace in a heartbeat. It's not the most pristine amp, but I do punk, I didn't want a pretty sound. It's mean, aggressive, and can scream. Buy it

Best Amp in the Price Range
I bought this amp about a year ago and couldn't be more satisfied. The tone can go anyplace you want it to. The clean channel is immaculate, and the "bright" switch really brings out that twang- good for blues and country. The overdrive channel has a nice sound to it and is perfect for both hard rock and blues (although metalheads might be disappointed by the amount of gain). Texture controls allow you to manipulate the overall drive behind the speakers. And did I mention how loud the thing is? Perfect for medium and small size venues, and about as dependable as they come. I would recommend this amplifier to anyone, it's quality is unbeatable.

Crunchy fun
After a month of research I kept going back to play this amp. It is quite versatile as far as the palette of tone available with a tweak here and a tweak there you can get awesome crunch or a nice fat slab of sound. The price is amazing and the volume seems to have no limits, except when the wife asks me to turn it down and that was at a volume of 2! Be it a club or the rehearsal studio this amp delivers.I have had at least a dozen combos in the last 30 years at least half of those Peavey and this one is the best yet.

Awesome Amp
I play on this amp everytime I visit my local music store. This amp is incredible!! The overdrive channel on this amp sounds like it could eat some of the marshall JCM halfstacks I have played on before for breakfast. The clean channel on this amp sounds very clear and does not break up very easily. I wish to purchse the halfstack version in the near future.
