A full-range 2-way that's biampable, too!

Updated technology gives the Peavey SP 2 better performance, sound dispersion and lighter weight at a low price. This rugged and dependable two-way enclosure uses a 15" Peavey Black Widow speaker that will handle up to 2000 watts of peak power and has a field-replaceable basket for quick, easy repair. The upper-mid and high frequencies are handled by the RX22 titanium driver that is ferrofluid cooled for maximum tweeter performance. Peavey's exclusive Quadratic Throat Waveguide technology actually reduces horn distortion and aims sound directly at the audience, not over their heads. The Aspen hardwood plywood construction, using extensive internal bracing, produces tighter bass response while significantly reducing the cabinet weight. To make connecting even easier, Peavey includes a standard 1/4 inch jack and an exclusive Neutrik Speakon input that makes biamping plug and play simple. Finished in the durable Hammertex with two heavy-duty handles and a stand mount, the SP 2 is perfect for a variety of applications. The SP Series speakers have been a live-sound standard for more than three decades. The new SP Series features all of the proven technologies that have established the line as one of the audio industry's most enduringly popular, reliable speaker systems.Made in the USA.

  • Awesome Speakers

As reviewed by Don Emerson on 6/15/2010

I own a set of these speakers and they are the best speakers I have ever owned. They have awesome bass and the highs are crisp. They are tanks and will take anything that you throw at them. I have played next to DJ's with the more expensive speakers made by other brands and they blow them away everytime.

  • Still heavy

As reviewed by Howard Page on 9/13/2010

These are great speakers. But for an oldie in a oldies and classic rock band it would be nice if they could come out with one of these is a light weight version such as the PR series. If you live in a second floor apartment and lug your gear back and forth you better have some help. i almost bought one yesterday. but it was too heavy. I'll stick with my Pr series. speakers.
