  • Will last forever

As reviewed by Jay on 3/11/2010

I have had the previous model of this amp for more than 15 years. Very little has changed with the newer model. I love the amp and will never part with it. I out grew it a long time ago when I was gigging. At this point it is the only amp I still have as I just play for fun now. I keep it because I can play at a low volume and it sounds great. It is also very portable and lite but can cut thought when jamming. This is a great practice or jamming amp.

  • Great Amp, Bad Overdrive

As reviewed by Devon on 11/28/2010

First of all, If i could, I would give the amp a 4.5/5 or a 9/10 I own the older model that is identical to this one except styling, and it's a great amp. The one downside I have had with it is that the overdrive/distortion channel is very bland, lifeless, and weak. However, this is easily fixed, as the amp takes pedals VERY well. Plugging any pedal into the amp's clean channel gives you a very solid sound that responds similar to a tube amp. This is a GREAT amp for someone who wants a good sounding practice amp at an amazing price. This amp has the ability to fit literally any style as long as you have the pedal(s) to match. The Clean channel is about as good as they get, and like I said, it works great with pedals, which isn't a feature that every amp has. This amp is also very reliable, as the one I have has had at least 3 previous owners. I have had it for about a year, the owner before me had it for about 5 years, and i have no clue about the other two. It still works perfectly and has very minimal cosmetic damage. I own: 2 solid state Fender Amps, 1 Solid State Marshall, and 1 solid state Vox, Plus i used to have a solid state Line 6, and out of all of those, I prefer this amp. It really has the best response and it works the best with pedals.

  • Great for the money.

As reviewed by Bailey on 8/24/2011

Was looking for a bedroom amp so my son could practice at all hours. Checked out comparable products from Orange, Marshall, Fender and Vox. The Peavey Rage has nice features at a price below some of the competitors. Tone is better than others at thisprice point.
