Captures the aggression and attitude of modern metal players with hot pickups and killer looks.

With a Kahler tremolo and supercharged active pickups anchored to menacing slabs of tone-sustaining mahogany, the Peavey PXD Void III Guitar is the sound of full-on aggression. It features high output EMG active pickups and the EMG-AB Afterburner tone circuit, which boosts input gain up to 20 dB--for the highest levels of saturation anywhere. The Peavey PXD Void III is the perfect complement to the Peavey 6505 Series guitar amplifiers, already a metal legend in the arsenals of bands like Trivium, In Flames, Bullet For My Valentine, Machine Head, Darkest Hour and more. True to the music that inspired them, the PXD Series of electric guitars are built for speed, slicing leads and razor-sharp riffs.

I have owned this axe for a month now and I am comfortable with it enough to write a review. I only play Hard Rock/Heavy Metal and that is pretty much all this guitar is good for. Don't think for a moment your going to go to a Dixie Chix gig and use this guitar. This thing screams. The EMG's do fine on thier own, let alone when you engage the boost! The Kahler Trem is smooth and stays in tune as long as you dont get too crazy. The weight is very low and the finish feels like raw wood. The neck is a little on the beefy side, but comfortable. No fret buzz or dead spots from the factory setup. It's balanced and hangs well on the strap and is very good for sitting and playing. The included case is VERY high quality and a nice touch. Lots of storage space. Overall the fit, finish and setup are classic Peavy. The only real gripe I would have is the way your picking hand rubs against the aluminum pick guard and the knob placement. Very minor gripe. I would buy all over if given the choice! \m/

I've had this guitar for almost 4 months now, It has a great agressive look and the EMG pups with the afterburner do give it a good (death metal) sound if that is what you are looking for, On the downside with any type of real hard playing it tends to jump out of tune not to mention when I do a few divebombs it likes to break the E & B strings on a regular basis 8-( Ive tried several differant settings with the Kahler bridge with the same results. Overall I think I would buy a differant guitar than this if I could do it all over again. Not saying that it sucks but its hardly average at best.
