these might not me the most sofisticated speakers out there, like JBL JRX115 or SP-6...BUT they perform very good afor the price they have. No doubt that it blows away the B-52 MX-1515 and harbinger HX152 with better lows and highs. these have a limit of 1400 watts, so far i have only pushed them up to 1200 and im pretty sure they can make you deaf
I have always bought Peavey products and love them. If they are ran correctly they will last forever. I have 2 of these speakers and they rock. The low frequency response of these speakers isn't that great but I added the PV118 and now it rocks. This is great for anyone wanting a system for a small to medium size venue.
These speakers are incredible for the price point.. I've been a professional DJ and Vocalist in the KC area for over 15 years and have used several speaker systems and I have never been more impressed with a "stand alone" unit like these. The base punch is clean and the highs are very good. I did have to adjust the EQs on the high end a bit more to accomadate vocals but a very clean vocal sound is produced.
I thought I might have to buy a powered sub to get more bottom but after the first night using these that thought was gone. I DJ average size clubs and using these speakers powered by a QSC 2450 it's more than enough. Since these run at 4 ohms that amp breathes out an easy 1000 watts per side and i'm only pushing about 50 percent before i'm asked to turn it down. Spend double the money and get the same sound,,, that's up to you. Don't let the Peavey name scare you away. My Dad swore by Peavey back in the day and now I know why.. JJ
