  • MY PRECIOUS

As reviewed by Charley Farley on 11/16/2007

Wow. First I had a Squire. Then I had a Warwick..(Huge waste of money for me) now I have this....my amazing bass. Well its prefect. The tone knobs are a little fuzzy and tight but it's easy to ignore. The humbuckers make the vibration honey to my ears. I'm saving up for a Carl Thompson and then I'll be done with this one but its also very beautiful. I chose the red tiger design. Its a blast to show off at school. Its been dropped dozens of times and no scratch yet. Get it ok?

  • Hidden Value in NOS Peavey

As reviewed by Matt Thompson on 2/8/2013

I've been a Peavey amp user for years, and now I'm finally getting myself one of their basses. The Millennium AC BXP is a FULL FEATURED instrument that has more bells and whistles than anything else in this price range, including the quilted top. And they play beautifully. If you're looking for a pure-tone instrument, you won't find it here. But for such a low price, the 3-tone active preamp and Cirrus-derived VFL soapbars provide plenty of tonal customization. The neck feels like a good old J-bass, and it's extremely comfortable to play. I had no trouble reaching around on the fretboard, playing anything from Rammstein's "Seeman" to Rush's "Spirit of Radio". The sharp looks and attention to detail make this a head turner, and using HipShot hardware is a real big plus for me since the factory is literally just up the street in Interlaken, NY. I'll be ordering one for myself as soon as I get some other junk taken care of. If my new one arrives in the same pristine condition as the one I played, I can imagine that this will be my main bass for practice and jam sessions.

  • Can't be beat

As reviewed by Rick Biller on 9/10/2012

This bass is the absolute best for its price. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, this bass will please you for years to come. It's perfect for almost any genre: funk, metal, punk, etc. You can get any sound you want out of it because of its built in pre-amp. One word of warning though, this bass is extremely powerful since it's active. If you have a smaller amp you may experience some distortion when you turn up the volume or bass. Another thing, if sounds like you're getting "farts" from your amp, but you aren't playing very loud, try changing the batteries. All in all though, this bass is amazing, if you're thinking about buying it you're over thinking it.
