Peavey got it RIGHT
I'd recommend this amp to any gigging guitar players, or just anyone in a rock/metal band. The 3 channels allow for some versitle playing, but I mostly use it for that 'balls to the wall' sound. The crunch channel sounds better than most of the marshalls. Marshalls can be very dry, so if you're like me and like a wet sound, this amp will work out well for you. If you're playing uses a lot of clean tones, you may want to pick up that EQ pedal for some balance.

Peavy sucks? I THINK NOT!!!
Most people look at a Peavey, and say. "oh, its just a Peavey". Not the case with the JSX series! This amp has everything you will ever want in an amp! You can dial in almost any tone you want! I play in a Metal/Alternitive band, and also I play at bars in a cover band. This amp can sound like any amp that a band uses. Anywhere from Full Bodied Chord sounds to Bone Crushing Metal Distortion! This is the amp for any serious active musician - Touring Megastar!

what a monster!!!!!!!!!
I know most people look at these reviews b4 buying an amp...at least I always have. This bad-boy is simply stunning. I can validly say that I have purchased and taken home every 212 combo amp that guitar center sells. I have to admit that this is the best sounding amp on the market as far as tube amps are concerned. Yes folks, that's right I have got the balls to compare this to a Mesa Boogie 212 Roadster. Now, don't get me wrong I thoroughly enjoyed the boogie, but not for over $1100 more...no freakin' way!!!!
Major point though...buy an EQ pedal. This will simply bring the amp to life. I purchased the boss GE-7...works so beautifully:):):):):):):)

My New Favorite Amp
The Peavey JSX combo is by far one of the best sounding amps ever made. Every time i go into guitar center i have to play on this! I've done stuff from the acoustic-like intro to "Cemetary Gates" and "Happy!?" to stuff like "Disasterpieces" and "Death Blooms" without this amp ever making a bad sound. And that's with stock pickups on an Ibanez(i'm an ibanez fan)! The reason i marked it down for value was the price. If you're a gigging musician and are checking out this amp, get the head version. It's cheaper and sounds the same. Otherwise this amp is flawless! Buy one if it's in your budget!

A combo to write home about
Been playing for over 20 yrs. I play in coverband, recording sessions, own label ,etc . I never thought I would say these words but Peavey does ROCK! This amp had everything I was looking for and more. You see my situation is that my band is starting to play some 'tight' gigs, meaning they are a lil smaller than the normal large scale venues we normally play. I needed another rig to bring to these shows instead of bringing my microwave-sized rack and 2 12" cabs. I researched and playing ALOT of amps, this amp won. The tones are fantastic, normally I use BBE to boost, and believe it or not it looks like I don't even need it. I was using a Marshall VM265 thru Pod XT live but the sound was very thin. Now, I just use the Pod as an effects processor instead running thru EL. For anyone looking for a BIG sound in an amp, NOT thin, try this amp out. I HIGHLY recommend it.

BEST AMP EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
im buying this amp. i don't care how long it takes to get it but im getting it. it has every sound possible! the strange thing is, with the right pickups you pretty much dial in the brown sound! it gives you the brown sound better than the 5150 ever did! yes, that does sound strange but fortunately its true. if you have the money, just buy it without thinking about it. trust me, its worth it

Last Amp I'll Ever Buy
Has to be the best sounding amp I have ever played. I own a full stack JMC 800 Marshall, Peavey Classic 50, Fender Twin Reverb 1969, 1954 Fender Baseman. I have to say this JSX 212 just blows them all away. Has every sound I could ever want out of an amp. The clean channel is one of the best I have ever come across. Then you throw in the versatility of having two separte dirty channels to it and you have the best thing on the market today. Thanks Peavey & Joe Satriani, You guys ROCK!!!

It is worth it!
I checked quite a few amps first and liked the reviews on this one! Cleans are chimey, Crunch and Ultra sound great! I sit it on top of the custom roadcase I bought for it to get it up off the floor... Lots of power!!! Sure, it's heavy, but it is compact and won't disappoint... I play 6 and 7 string guitars and the speakers can handle it... I am glad I got it... By the way, I have been playing on this amp for over a year... NO problems...

Yes, it's worth the money!
Sure, Marshall has the name, but when I checked out this JSX, I made the decision to get it... I gig a lot and bought a custom road case for it... I sit the amp on top of it, so the sound is coming straight at me... great chimey clean sounds and the crunch channel is really all I need... Running at the master volume of 3 will handle most gigs; I actually have to turn down at some places, but it's got power to spare...Joe Satriani and Peavey made a great amp... I have no regrets on this one... Footswitch is sturdy too! Long cord as well if you need it... If I had to complain, it is HEAVY! Built like a tank!
